game freezes at end (must reboot pc?) other way? | Forums

keyboard will not respond (nothing responds)

ok. finished mission (skipped exit part), take gunboat out to explore islands.

1st time, ended up beaching boat, so i hoofed it. after about 10 minutes of exploring, a heli shows up (no gunner). starts shadowing me. i shoot at it, throw grenades. it's just hovering and buzzing me. then i turn to walk away...game freezes up...sounds still works (hear heli), my view is frozen. (time limit on demo? because i went to 'off limit' area of map?)

2nd time, i just took boat out in ocean, went quite a ways (hoping to see sunset, it was almost evening looking). got bored returned to islands (that's what the little triangle on radar points at i found out). im exploring the islands (moss ones) looking for anything. game freezes again (same scenario except no heli around).

so is this bug? or is this what happens when you stay too long or go to wrong place?

also save games seems to be wierd, if i crank up game, no saved games, then i play to a checkpoint, i can see all checkpoints from last time i played on reload screen. is that supposed to be?

will there be a quicksave (ala F5) type feature on game, so you can save as you choose like right before a tough section of game?

*edit - also i don't notice much if any difference between easy and hard. what should i look for?

I have had the same problem, which has happened a few times now. Once while I was enjoying a gunship ride around the islands, another time I was exploring a different part of the jungle and yet another when I got to the second set of steps.

I am using a Ti 4200 with the latest drivers and was enjoying the excellent game until the problems started.

I had similar problems with Splinter Cell, which were never resolved, but have played through Max Payne 2 and Call of Duty several time with no problems.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

After playing both demos, and hearing the pc gamer was scaled down to fit on cd, i think it's a cheaper way of 'insta' death the helis in demo#1 provide when you stray out of bounds.
