Hi,
Im having a problem with FarCry when everytime i turn up the shadows to 'High' on my 9800 Pro textures like metal suddenly turn invisible! This is extremely noticeable especially on the 'carrier' level where i go outside on the decks and the whole ship turns invisible, i can literally see the ocean under the ship and the enemies walking around throughout it. The problem solves itself when i turn the shadows down to medium, and so i was wondering if anyone knew about this problem and how to solve it.
Thanks in advance!

it have this problem with my FX5900. a possible senario could be a bad installation so try reinstalling far cry and make sure all background programs are off. also, sometimes reloading the level or restarting the game can fix this problem. i know that soemtimes i load a different level and then load the level i want again and the problem goes away. also, make sure you have enough RAM becasue with settings on high, ideally you want at least 1 gig of RAM. there is a new patch coming out soon that may solve this problem. also, make sure you have the latest drivers.

Display problems are driver related not game related.

Im pretty sure it's not a driver related issue or there would be lots of other posts from users stating the same problem, but beleive me, ive looked and there dont seem to be any at all.
It might be an installation problem, but i doubt it, because i have installed and uninstalled many times and have come across the same problem always : If i turn the shadow level above Medium then i start getting graphical glitches.
My hardware is:
P4 2.8ghz
MSI Neo 2 Mainboard
512MB PC2700 DDR
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
I have tried other drivers as well, and yet the problems persist.
Hopefully this problem will be fixed in the next patch. (fingers crossed)

Hope this don't happen to myself tommarow when the 9800 comes in the mail. Guess it's prone to happen though ^_^

AMD Athlon XP 3200+
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
