Hey, i am thinking of buying splinter cell for myself, and i dont get to buy too many games, as for restrictions by my parents, so whenever i do buy one, i need to be absolutley sure that it will be worth the time and money. so, splinter cell owners, tell me honestly, does it get boring or old, or can you play it over and over again even after you have beaten the game? And another thing: how varied are the levels, is there variation in the gameplay and differences in the features of the games? Any input is welcome. Please give me advice!

You've come to the right place.

It doesn't get old. I've owned it for months and still play it.

There are several ways to get by any particular obstacle.

Levels vary from inside, outside, sewers, embassies, CIA HQ, everything but wilderness.

Some of us here have beaten 1 kill and 1 bullet, you must kill one person, but they are great challenges, and the replay value is amazing.

I second the motion nj. It doesnt have the replay value that your looking for I think, Since the maps/levels are linear. But if you have live (Xbox that is) then therell be extra levels for download. The story is very good, and the graphics too!!!

Try to get by everything as many ways as possible. You can shoot, distract one way, distract another way, sneak up on and ko, drop down on, and start firefights and chases with people.

I can name one spot where there are 5 ways to get by it.

Just like any game; there are certain levels where certain moves can be performed, and are justifiable. As far as the gameplay mechanics I thought this title was spot on for the most part. It has wonderful graphics, gorgeous lighting, and some of the best sound effects I have ever witnessed. Also, for the most part the AI is respectable, not perfect, but decent. There are a few things I don't like -clipping can be annoying as heck, and the fact that guards can hunt you down even when you are in the dark and steadily pump you fulla lead. Those are really minor complaints though, I feel.

However, the game can be a bit linear. I didn't get bored at all during the game but I can definitely see where some folks could have. It really depends on whether or not you are into this sorta thing -military, covert ops, etc.If that is your bag I'd suggest picking the game up. I'm really into that sorta thing and have played the game several different times, I still pop it in on occasion and give it a whirl. I bought mine at launch by the way (Xbox).

I'd hate to steer a fellow gamer wrong, but I think this is a great title. If what you consider "replay value" is multi-player, etc, then this game may not be for you. However, to me, it is one of the better single player games I have experienced.

Also, alot of it depends on what version you are after.

I found the stealth scenario VERY intriguing, as I play a lot of games that way anyway... I don't run in shooting usually, I try to sneak. Thus it was very fulfilling and a needed challenge to have it necessitated.

The graphics, well,.... exquisite. The story, was not over done -- just enough to get you involved, but didn't take over the game, or annoy you w/excessive narration. I've completed it once, and I'm in my second round on the hard level.... LOVE IT.
