Here's what I understand at the moment:
1) Those of us who have the retail Uru package will be able to download the expansion.
2) Uru will be repackaged for retail sale, to include the the expansion for new buyers.
The expansion and, presumably, the new "Uru Plus" will be released in a month or so.
Is all that correct?

I'd bet it's like they said before: they tried to get live going and prepared some content to come after the prologue. Well, the prologue is over in some kind. So what to do with all the content? Let's make some expansion packs out of it (first to keep the fans "happy", second to get some money out of it after all).
Someone wrote that CYAN is working now to change the riddles from multiplayer to singleplayer and so on. I really don't think this whole thing was planed from the beginning...
Please: Don't turn this into another dammed thread about why "Live" was cancelled. That topic has been beaten to death; please don't hijack my thread, when there are so many others that are apropos.
Live is gone (for now.) I want to know about the expansion pack and "Uru: The Extended Edition."
Not to hijack, but along the same lines: How about those of us who are still living in the Dark Ages and rely solely on dial-up? Will the "free" expansion pack be a download only? Yikes!!PLEASE don't say I'm going to have to buy the "Plus" pack just to get the expansion....

all that. so CC I don't know anwser to question but hopefully someone will. I just want to say that the expansion packs will help my experience I'm sure. they probl have the material ready for a while and it was just a case of getting it onto CD. i hope it works well. send fan mail to Bono btw.

Hi, CC. Yes, from what information we have been given, the 1st expansion pack will be free and downloadable. The scheduled release is in March - nothing more specific. More details will be provided as they are made available.
I have not heard the phrase "Uru Plus" or "Uru: Extended Edition". Are you referrring to the way they will be packaging Uru, now that it has expacks and is not Live? If so, I have not heard anything definitive yet, regarding that.

In one of his messages (can't find the thread), CyanBill mentioned that the expansion would be included in future Uru retail packages.
I'm wondering, because I know some offline players interested in Uru, who'd rather wait for a retail "Uru + Expansion #1", rather than buy the game now and the need to download a big patch via a slow connection.

But to stay on topic: All that I know is that the first expansion is for free by download (who thought they would give away CD updates for free?). The expansions after that will have to be paid and bought on CD.
Would be interesting to know if all upcoming expansions will include the ones before (so exp. 2 includes 1 and so on) or if you have to buy and install all of them in the right order. Just imagine when we get to expansion 15 or so and have to reinstall...... just kidding...
