Ocelot (Young)

Role Played: Snakes Rival Enemy

Images:1

Gender:Male

Affiliation: Spetznaz,possibly GRU

    *WEAPONS*

SVD (Dragunov sniper rifle)
-Press weapon or L1 button to aim. Release Weapon button to fire. Switch magnification with triangle while aiming. Try to keep your stamina in the 4th bar to have capable aiming. With 1 bar aiming seemed very impossible. 31 bullets.

MK-22 Hush Puppy
-Tranquilizer gun. Press square button to aim. Release to fire. Attach suppressor with circle button while window is open. {After reviewing some of the text it would seem that during the opening of the real game you will will only have the MK-22 and knife to start out with.} 22 bullets.

M1911A1
-.45 handgun. Press square button to aim, release to fire. Attach suppressor with circle button while window is open. 22 bullets.

M16A1
-Press L1 button in first person view for shoulder aim. Rotate firing mode with triangle button. Attach suppressor with circle button while window opens. 61 shots.

M37
-12 gauge shotgun. Press square button to aim. Release to fire. Direct hit in close range will blow enemy away. 13 bullets.

AKM
-This was only available in the Survival Menu of the game

Survival Knife
-For close combat. Press square button to stab. Press square button repeatedly to make a combo attack.

Barehand
-Press circle button to punch. Press repeatedly for a combo. Press square near a fallen enemy to drag him around.

Grenade
-Mostly the same as MGS2, as an added bonus you can throw a grenade into an alligator's mouth

Stun Grenade
    -Basically the same as before

Magazine
    -Same as before

Directional Microphone
    -Same as before

    SNAKE'S INVENTORY

Motion Detector
-Detects object movements. Only moving objects are detected. Consumes battery power while in use.

Active Sonar
-Detects life forms' positions. Press L3 to emit sonic wave. Consumes battery power while in use. Using the sonic wave to close to an enemy will alert him to your position. (Pretty cool huh?

Night Vision Goggles (NVG)
-Self explanatory, no real use for the demo. You know...Splinter Cell? Night Vision?

Thermal Goggles
-You can use this to search for animals in the grass but I found that the Active Sonar was better suited for this. Perhaps night time excursions will allow for active use of this or the NVG.

Scope
-A normal scope much like MGS2, allows you to zoom.

AP Sensor
-Again much like MGS2, makes the controller rumble when enemies are nearby I never used it however.

LF RCVR
-The secret item of the demo which provided no use. You can find it under the bridge at the end of the bridge. The in-game description was out of wack and confuzzled. Trying to use this item provided no effect. The most I got out of the description was that it was a "Life Recovery" item. Perhaps the new and improved ration? Although using it did not make it disappear.

    SNAKES CAMOFLAUGE

Selectable through pausing

Blends Snake in with environment

Meter in upper right of screen indicates how well blended Snake is with environment (the higher the number, the better)

Camoflauge works best near a similar structure (i.e. Tree Bark camo blends well when near a tree)

Stalking mode and crawling will enhance effectiveness of camoflauge

Camo is changed in real-time

Using the correct face paint adds about 5% effectiveness to Snake's camo

Even if Snake's camo meter is at 100%, if a guard bumps into him, he will be found

If a guard sees Snake, he still has a precious few seconds to change his camo to suit the area

When in a swamp or a river, using the crocodile "hat" will act in the same way camo does

Croc "hat" can also be used to scare enemies away

    CAMOFLAUGE PATTERNS

Naked (Not actually naked )

Olive Drab

Tiger Stripe

Leaf

Tree Bark

Squares

Black

Snow

Fire
    {See Camoflauge Demonstration}

    CLOSE QUARTERS COMBAT

Certain weapons will be compatible with CQC maneuvers, and some won't

Snake can equip a CQC weapon (like a knife) in conjunction with CQC capable firearms

CQC allows you to knock out enemies, break bones, kill, and even interrogate enemies

Guards can be used as shields, and Snake can now shoot while taking a guard hostage

There are a wealth of different CQC maneuvers, including ones that have never been previously shown in a demo

    SNAKES STANIMA METER

Appears below Snake's health meter

Stalking, hanging mode, and other strainful activites lower this meter

Stamina meter can be replenished by eating plants and animals, which plays a big part in the gameplay

Snake can develop a "taste" for certain foods; if he eats a lot of the same type, he will regain more and more stamina from said type of food as time goes on

Health regeneration speed is affected by the stamina meter

Extreme temperatures will deplete the stamina meter

    OTHER GAMEPLAY FACTS

Stalking mode enables you to walk carefully/slowly, increases stealth

There are multiple ways to complete objectives, and multiple paths to take that lead to locations

Snake can operate turret guns

Hanging mode now enables you to hang with one hand, and shoot with another

Injuries are possible, and can affect gameplay

Traps can be laid by Snake and enemy NPCs

Animals can be tracked by observing movement in grass

The standard radar has been removed, and has been replaced with battery-operated equipable radars

Snake has the ability to shoot while swimming

FPV mode can be toggled while crawling

Multiple ways to "hold up" enemies

Interactive levels (i.e. pushing barrels around, shooting bee hives)

A new system forces Snake to have a few selected items in a "quick access" menu, while others are carried

Some guns have 2 fire modes: one standard mode, and another which allows Snake to have a more accurate aim, but requires him to remain stationary while firing

Tranquilized animals can be thrown at enemies to scare them away

    THE NEW AI SYSTEM

Guards can see much further than before

Guards too can use camoflauge, making them harder to see in different areas

Guards scout in groups of 4

Lone guards will attack first, and call for backup later

Wild animals can attack you, but they'll attack guards too

Animals are not as easily tricked by camoflauge, but can be tricked by scent

    Much Thanks to -1313-Evil_Homer

yay!! the best game ever!! lol
i have a few things to add.

-if you are injured when you save a game and not play the game again for 3 weeks(which would be crazy) snake will be fully healed. but if you load it a day later he will still be injured just not as much(from ign preview)
-you get an M16 assault rifle
-i dont know for sure but silencers maybe detachable from the hand gun
-the main character is most likely big boss
-david hayter is playing big boss/snake
-animals you tanq are more fresh when you eat them than they are when you just kill them and they stay fresh longer
-you can put aligator heads on yours to scare enemies away or hide in water
-if you hold onto food for to long it will spoil and other animals will be able to smell you(enemy dogs)
    -you can crawl up trees
-snake gets the **** kicked outta him a couple times LOL
