Thread: First, and last Ubi game ever | Forums

  1. #1
This game is great. First, I have to uninstall legitimate software because they don't like it. Then I am asked if I would like to install software on my computer (required for secure online gaming...oooh, sounds official) which can basically log the last time I took a ****. Seriously, if you installed PunkBuster, you should have read the license agreement. They have the right, according to that agreement, to search your hard drive, compile a list of everything on it, install whatever they want, whenever they want without your knowlege or consent and even take screen shots at any time so they can SEE what you are doing. This is some of the most invasibe spyware I have ever seen. Where was I? Oh yeah, then I find out that because my computer has a CD burner (standard on today's computers) and a DVD/CDRW combo drive (also a burner) and no crappy, outdated CDROM drive I cannot play the game anyway. Apparently if you have a CD burner you are a loser wastoid without a job who has nothing better to do than crack copy protection and distribute some pissant little company's games all day. Then, when I want to talk to tech support, I can either call a toll number or I can choose the link which takes me back to the page with the link that took me to the page where the link is that I am clicking on...did that make sense to you? It sure didn't to me. Making **** like this, it's no wonder they don't have an email address. They'd have to double their staff with return requests. Personally, I will be returning this **** first thing tomorrow and will never again purchase another Ubisoft product. From the sounds of things on this forum, I am not alone.

Pick up an Xbox for cheap ($150 new or $80 refurbished) and play the game as it was meant to be played--on XBL.

I have a DVD-RW and my brother has a CD-RW. Neither of us had any problems installing the game.

I don't understand why people need to use CD/DVD Emulation Software. I know its legitamate and Ubi has no right to make you uninstall it, but why would you need it in the first place? You have a CD drive, use it.

    Where's the patch?

Take it back, I really don't care. We didn't need this post about your problem with the game.
