Need help with the pipe leading to Gehns lab! | Forums

I have managed the controls of the boiler room on Crater Island. I read that the lever on the lake must be in the middle position. I have gotten rid of the water and put off the flames and opened the door. Somewhere I read that there is a pipe in the boiler you have to go through up to Gehns lab. It says: look down the pipe and keep clicking until you can't go any further.
When I do that, I can only make one click,the image changes and I seem to be at the bottom. No way to get down the stairs of that pipe! This is very frustrating and I really don't understand it. On this forum I also read there is a moveable platform in the boiler. Is that it? What am I doing wrong and what do I do to change it?
Please help!
Ingrid (by the way: I have made great progress this weekend, kept playing it for hours. I write down everything, and tonight I started from the beginning. It all makes a lot more sense. Great game.

You do need to go through that pipe, but it will not take you to Gehn's Lab (directly), so don't be disappointed. To connect the pipe, you have to go outside the boiler over to the controls platform and fool with the big flexible pipe.
