Just wondering if anyone found the "way around the battle" as our videophone firned talks about ? Or is the only way through to wait out the battle and go over the bridge ?

I just shot down a helicopter and there are 2 handgliders on a hill. The handgliders dont reallly go anyway and I can take a Robe thingy to a tower, but that do bring me around either. I can also walk on the mountain to the left of the archives, but it seems to be a dead end, since i cant get down.

    Any solutions ?

    Cheers
    Koichiro

(Im talking about the level where you need reach the archives and you end up lloking down on a battle between the monsters and the Mercs at the archives)

OK guys there are a couple of ways around this level, The first is to go down to the bridge and take the rope slide upto the tower( shooting mercs, trigens along the way).
The second way upto the tower where the ropeslide ends is to take the hang glider and use it to get just to the right of the bottom of the tower where the ropeslide ends.

Once at the tower, Using either the sniper rifle or the AG38, Zoom in on the mercs and take them out with headshots (easier when you use the cryvision goggles) especially if their behind bushes etc.
At the bottom of the tower move forward towards the edge of the grassy cliff and crouch or go prone and look down into the small valley corridor, mercs and trigens are hiding here, Take them out using the previous methods, Once everything is dead , check, using the binoculars, then you can just walk straight through the front gate.

i think you might have rather more fun if you participated in the battle and killed everything, rather than running away. i thought this was one of the easiest levels i've yet played on the game, and i managed to kill every single enemy (i think) on the entire level on veteran difficulty setting

The easiest way, for me, was to grab a hang glider and go straight through the middle - most of the mercs were "pre-occupied" by the trigen rocket launcher guy, so after touchdown I just hit the grass and crawled, literally, inbetween the firefight. I had to whack a fwe mercs who got to close with a silenced weapon, but it was pretty easy.

Rebellion is a great level and would make a fantastic co-op experience!

Whichever way you approach this, I echo oni_666 and suggest you make your way up to the tower overlooking the main battle near the facility entrance. There are alot of enemies, both mercs and trigen out there so if you plan to take them down you'll need/use a fair bit of ammo doing this.

My approach was to use the tower purely for recon, to use the binocs to identify all the possible enemies in that area (which itself is scary as dozens of dots showup), then I headed down back down the (rope slide) flying fox to near the bridge and took my buggy over the bridge and minced anything I saw on my radar - whether in sight of not. This saves your ammo, although there is plenty of M4/AG36 rounds around.

Taking your time pays off here because the longer you take to approach, the longer the battle rages and more mercs and trigen will be killed by each other.

PS. A friend has got through to the final facility using stealth, but you need alot of luck because mercs and trigens are running everywhere and no matter how stealthy you are, somebody can just stumble upon you.

heh. I just got in the 4WD and ploughed through everything squashing anyone/thing who got in the way under the wheels.

When I got to the logs which you cant pass in the 4WD I bailed out and ran. The Mercs were too busy with the trigens to bother with me so I didn't take much damage.

Than I just took out the scientists and mercs guarding the entrance and well...that's it! Not very subtle but...it worked!

By the way did any notice that the rocket trigens on this section were invinincible? I noticed when I went up in the 4WD and started shooting one with about 10 rockets and 200 bullets it still wasn't dead!

    Thanks for reading

Seems like some strange things happen in this level..

The first time I took the hangglider and just landed a bit after that bridge. A chopper followed me but never attacks me..Then I noticed some Trigens and they came after me when I ran back. There was no battle going on between Trigens and mercs.. This didnt work out since I got killed over and over this way.

So I tried something else. From the point where the hangglider is, I zoomed in with the binoculars and at that point the battle started! I walked to the rope slide and took it all the way up to the tower. From there I zoomed in again and watched the show for quite a long time. I noticed the fact that mercs and trigens sometimes just disappeared while they were not even being attacked! I guess the battle has its spawning so trigens and mercs just spawn and disappear randomly? Im now still watching from the tower, affraid to go on since there's still lots of enemies left and I cant get a good shot at them with the sniper rifle..

Ok so I left the tower and went down. Guess what? Theres a bug here! Everytime I shoot an enemy, either merc or trigen, they dont die but just keep standing on their feet gazing at me and doing nothing at all! When they see me they attack but when I shoot them, they just dont die but stop attacking me. This level is very weird!

Syntagma, the disapearing has nothing to do with spawning. Is just a trick of the engine to not draw objects that are further than a certain distance. (e_obj_view_distance or something).

I used the 4WD to. I didn't stop at the logs though.. I used the hill to the right of the bridge to jump so I landed in the middle of the bridge. That was fun.
