You dont say what operatig system your using,if its XP then you need to download the xp patch.Go to http://www.settlers4.net onto the mapbase and you will find it on patches.

If this isnt the case post again on this thread

you forgot to mention on windows 98/me the Shell32.dll file is replaced when Internet Explorer 6 is installed, which also leads to the same error occuring. (and the same patch fixes it)

i haven't got xp i dispise the dam thing i'm running on 98 upgraded from 95 using cd

There are no known issues with 98,but I have known people to get the xp patch using 98 and ME and its solved many issues,it certainly cant hurt as its not working at the mo.

its strange though when i had 95 i worked like a treat ??? although i'm willing to try anthing because i've bin trying to play on s3 for donkeys years!!!!

i have this other problem now

you see its like this i'm on a pub comp
and the reason i'm on a pblic comp is because i don't have internet access at home but i do have 1 or 2 floppys but the so called s3exe.xip cant fit on 1 floppy

so there it is

fixed this prob no no need to worry bin playin on s3 for some time now
