Want to be imortalized on a real plane?

I'm trying to mock up my paint scheme for a (real) flying replica (60% size) 190A-5. Care to zap together a paint scheme for me ? (Beg-Beg) I'm not so skilled (results have been iffy so far), and would love to see a 'master' do it....

It would be a Gray cammo, perhaps like CsThors FW190A-4 (only in A5 version) skin off IL2 skins


(or other) with the following:

- Smallish sized black and white checquered flag on the nose ring up to the panel line before the 'cheeks' (not the whole cowl)

- 'Serpent' unit marking on the nose, only in Green not Red

- Yellow under cowl behind the flag part

- Yellow rudder like in the pic, but no yellow band on the fuse.

- Yellow on the wing tips.

- Number "77" on the side in Yellow numbers (to match rudder and tips) with black border, or Red with white surround could work too.

- Spinner? I dunno... something that fits I guess. Could be Yellow, or could be Black with a white spiral (Better)

I realize this is non-historic, but it ties together my Racing (Car) and other themes..

I also REALLY need a 3d model of the A5 as well. I need to make sure my external profiles (for the real thing) are as good as possible. (the outer skin of my plane will be carbon fiber). From this I can scale it and apply to my 3d frame model..

Any takers? I could proably cough up a few bucks/quid/whatever via paypal for the effort, and If I really get a good design, I'd be willing to put your name in little letters somewhere on the finished plane as a credit....

is there any mods required? being a LAE i seem to remember the wars cowls are different to allow for the flat four eng

Actually, I had a computer crash a while back and lost it all, including the flag nose skin you had given me [img]/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif[/img]
(Notice I still have it in my sig!) With a few mods, as listed in my original note, the skin you had done for me would probably work (although I do like the one show in the pic)...

I'm proceeding kinda slow to make sure I do it right.
I have the plans, and built 1 16' long level table to build the plane on. I'm currently putting the plans in CAD so I can adjust the design a bit (and I want to do it in 3d for the surface model too).

I got a composites 'test kit' with various composites,foam and epoxy to experiment a bit. My plane will have extra cool factor by having the outer skin be Carbon Fiber.

I'll start the build towards the end of summer.

I'm a little pokey getting started on projects, but work like crazy on them once I get going...

Thanks for your offer.
Actually, the plane I'm building is going to be as close as I can get to the real thing, so the standard 1024 size FB A5 works as a template. It could be very much like the drawing in the original post, only with the mods listed.. Theres really not much else needed.


If you look at my Sig, 'Hob' got me started a while back (though I lost the skin). The other plane in the picture is a flying version that is of the same design as I am building. As you can see, its not bad for a 'scale model'!

Ah, you know the bird.. Cool.
By mods, do you mean for a skin or in the real thing?
A flat 4 fits easily. Being more of a scale buff than that, my plan is to also build a 7 cylinder radial for it (get it - half of the original 14cyl) though it would only be around 125hp. If I can make it work, I'll use BMW motorcycle cylinders and heads, but I haven't researched that part so much yet. It will be based on a design from 'HCI'.. I have a full little machine shop, so I have all the tools, toys and skills if maybe not the time to pull it all off..
