That doesn't work unless the program runs in a window. BGAE doesn't. Hotkeys don't work very well then.

Use a program like Irfanview, and set it for automatic timer. I'm running through the game right now with a picture every 3 seconds.

If you run the patched game on PC, you can also use Rahly's savegame editor to take a look at the pictures in your camera. It will also show you the last picture you took, even if it is't an animal. That's where the race records came from.

URU can be run in a window, (use settings program for that) and then the hotkey works quite well. If you run it full screeen, it doesn't.
BGAE runs full screen by default and there is no option for windowed play.
Open Irfanview. Press c (capture). Set capture method to automatic timer delay and capture area to foreground window client area. That works, because it's the way I take my screenshots. There are a few problems with that:
    1. is that you don't control the timer yourself and may have to take several runs to have that one picture you want.
    2. for some reason, when the game gets heavy on video processor time, Irfanview doesn't take its scheduled pictures and you might run through a whole scene without any pics. ALT-TAB helps to get it going again, but that tends not to work very well at those times.
