Thread: 20-50 FPS on my Radeon 9800 | Forums

  1. #21
    I have a XP 2400+ 512 RAM Radeon 9800 pro.
For some time i had Poor fps, about 20-30. But then finally i noticed my Harddrives were not running in Ultra DMA. i enabled UDMA in the bios and after that im running at avarage 80 fps. 1024x768 everything at high details.
    Worth a try

what in the name of earth did you do in order to get FPS that high?

I'm constantly @ 20 fps, with abit slower system than yours, but hey UBI what monster for a computer do you expect people to have??

    And as The.Vulture said:
"As for the game actually being "optimized" for the ATI cards...that's just plain laughable.
    "

Insane, I really hope that UBI and Redstorm are about to rethink their coorporation with that UT Warefare "mod" engine..

I've said it beforem if only my game vendor would have accepted this game to be refunded I would have left it ages ago.

I repatched it just for some weeks ago, hoping that the graphic issues would have been solved, but no f*cking way!

Doesn't UBI realize that the draw plauge upon the Rainbow series by releasing this utterly crappy game?

    Holy C*rap Lion Tours!
    Start>Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs>...
    start \high RavenShield.exe
    start \high RavenShield.exe mod=AthenaSword

Has anyone tried using different ATI driver versions? I run:

    Win XP Pro
    Radeon 9500Pro
1GB PC3200 Ram (had 512MB - extra ram made no difference)
    XP3200+ (2600+ with FSB oc'ed to 200)
    ATI Drivers version 3.6
    Audigy 2

I do have Texture Detail turned down to Medium but everything else is maxed including sound.

In SP, I always get 40-100fps running at 1280x1024 with no AA and 16XAF. Multiplayer always causes a major dip in fps but guys with 9800Pros should be rockin'. Has anyone tried reverting to older drivers? In ATI's case, newer is definitely not always better.

Running a 5900XT i get about 60 fps on average in multiplayer.
In single player i get about 74 fps average.
    BUT.
When i host a multiplayer game i get as high as 280 FPS. no joke.

This game must be poorly coded. i just dont get it.

    2100 athlon, ECS Mobo, ti 4600, 1 gig pc 2700, Audigy 2 15 - 60 depending
    3 gig p4, Abit max 3, 9800 pro, 1 gig pc 4000, Audigy 2 50 - 210 depending
Its all about Raw Power here, tweaks will raise top end but not bottom my experience. gl

I heard they are moving over to the Crytek engine whatever that is
