There is a GR 2 interview with Christian Allen over at www.xboxaddict.com
FYI, there are some new details mentioned (new to me anyway and it's at the top of the Start Page). Enjoy!

    Nice article...

    Parts I liked:

quote:
For example, in one mission, you will move in behind enemy lines and laser designate a vital target for an precision air strike from a mountain cliff, and then make your way to an active helo extraction through an area crawling with enemies. You can choose how to move through it: slow and stealthy or fast and lethal.

Below is nothing I necessarily wanted, but should impress some people! (when talking about Live3 updates...)

quote:

One cool new thing weâ've added is the ability for players to pick from a selection of skins/uniforms offered by each server.

Some good news that I welcome (if it's also for PC...)

quote:

We plan to (release older maps ranging from the first two games). We have a lot of fan feedback on what the favorite maps are. We plan to choose some maps that will give the GR fans a chance to experience them all over again.

quote:
The levels are expansive and outdoors, which give the players a lot of tactical options when completing missions.

    I sure hope so...

FINALLY!!!! Info on the ordering system!!!

quote:
For example, if you have a group of enemies holed up behind cover, you can layer your team orders to have your team hold their fire and flank the enemy. Then, when they are in position, you give a suppress order, and your team lays down suppressive fire while you move up to pick off the distracted enemies. Dynamic orders are also available that allow your team to do almost any action you can do, from placing demo charges to manning fixed machine guns. It is awesome to lay cover fire for your team while they plant charges on a target, or to order your team to hit a tank and watch them move to a position and take it out.

    Hmm...

quote:
Our improved new night vision mode is based on how an actual night vision system works. The brightness and contrast are enhanced on the screen in a way which closely mimics night vision. The image detail is increased, as opposed to the old system, which often decreased visible details.
Itâ's also worth nothing that when night vision is used on daytime maps, the system blinds the player, in a way similar to real night vision, and prevents its use from being a balancing issue.

Yea, but why dont we get this news? we are registered on this forum to get closer to the source of knowledge, ie the developers, so far they're talikng more to xbox-sites than us who'll actually pay them money.
Maybe they're scared of us pc gamers because they really despises us for wanting something more than the GR2 we see today...

PC needs a CE, the only way to stave off piracy is giving more!

How, you might ask? So far I hear the PC is getting a "dumbed down version" of ghost recon 2. That would make all of the xbox info apply to the PC. I see it more like a child putting his fingers in his ears because he doesn't like what he's hearing.

You paid money to sign-up to these forums? or Xbox gamers don't have to pay for games?

quote:
From the interview:
We are supporting Dolby Digital 5.1 and also support Dolby surround and DTS.

DTS? That has to be PS2(I know it supports it) or PC b/c I've never heard of an xbox game that has DTS support.

The xbox console supports DTS, but maybe few games do. And I dont think that PS2 supports digital surround at all, does it. correct me if im wrong.

The Ps2 does support dts for dvds and games (optical out on back) for example...SSX Tricky and a handfull of other games were in-game "DTS-interactive" and sounded great (only thing I missed when I sold my PS2.) I'm not putting my money on DTS for the Xbox but, I can still dream!
