I know this has been posted tons of times but . . .

I need a way to make the AI friednlies just stay GLUED TO THE GROUND!

I'm beginning to think that almost half my AI casualties are a result of their kneeling up in the middle of a fight. It's neat that their AI makes them actively adjust their postition to get a better shot at an enemy, but their AI seems to have almost no awareness of the cover-advantage of being prone.

Just recenly I've been doing the IT mission where you have to rescue some informant and his little book of info, and I am getting in a crossfire between enemies on the bridge to the north and enemies coming from the west as some jeeps go by. (Very fun by the way.) With all the shooting, the air above our position is pretty much filled with lead, and there's not really much cover to get behind. But still, the AI friendlies are going to their knees on their own. And after they do that, it's only a matter of ten seconds at the most before they get nailed.

Some commmand buttons that would over-ride the more general ROEs would be great. A button for "Stay Down!" would be a good one; another would be "Cease Fire!".

Put them on Recon? That's always kept them down in my experience.

I've noticed that the tactics the player uses affects how well the AI seems to perform. Probably something to do with emphasizing the AI's strengths and minimizing its weaknesses, I guess.

Don't take a fireteam that way. Take a sniper. That's it. Keep him covered from a hill, though, with a 2 man team. In the words of Groundskeeper Willy, "ach! That should do it!"

    Your pal,
