Greetings,
I picked this game up to play while my psx2 is being replaced. While I was in the middle of playing SOCOM2 when I had to send it off, I thought this latest R6 installment would be a good replacement game to play
However I have some things that I'd really like to see changed (maybe some other people will like/want these too, I can only guess).
1) Remove the unnesessarily huge crosshairs/reticle. I find that these really clutter up my screen and certain ones, can make it rather difficult to properly aim. A simple crosshair with a small "bead" in the middle would work just fine rather than the current ones that were made only for cosmetic reasons.
2) Ability to change the rate of fire. I still can't believe that Ubi let this one go without the ability to change the fire rate. How about instead, allow me (the player) to customize my controller so I can switch the useless "map-swap" button with something actually worthwhile.
3)Obviously, this is not a stealth based game (however, I'm only on mission 2 so maybe that will change) and knowing (since I work at the Army's simulation center) that these current weapons - in reality, are in fact, very loud, I'm shocked that tangos don't come charging at me. Since some of these guns, in real life can be heard up to 2Km away. Even if I use a surpressed weapon, my other teammates cannot (unless they are given that by HQ). So I am upset to see that so far, stealth and stealth kills are not options (at least from what I've played anyway and I will admit it's been only a small amount).
4) After playing Raven Sheild and all other R6 titles, why can we not create our own paths and waypoints?
5) So far my biggest "pet peeve" is that in reality, a team would never function like the one in this game. If there is 4 people in a group, you would have two groups of two. So when you tell you subordinates to do something, they all do it and leave you alone and unguarded. In real-life, you would always be accompanied by someone else acting like a second skin.
6) Fix the voice recognition. It seems to work about 70% of the time. Orders such as "Regroup" seem to almost never work. Some orders are received and work very well while other, more common ones seem to have problems.
7) I was surprised to see particular orders missing. Such as "Hold your Fire" and "Fire at will". It also would have been nice to have "Take cover" or "Cover me". However there does seem to be a very nice laundry list of voice commands already in the game.
All in all, I am really enjoying this game despite the things I've listed here. It does however seem a tiny bit more "arcadey" than the other R6 and R6:3 titles but still, the graphics are great and the audio/sound is most excellent(probably the best audio/sounds I've heard in a game in a long time). I'd give this game an 7.5 out of 10.
I hope that people will respond, hopefully adding to this list or commenting on existing items. Flame me if you will but I stand by what I've written.
