I would. Espiecally if you want to keep up with the story that Live kicks off. Of course this is only my opinion.

There's no need to play Uru first. When you go online you still get all of the offline ages to play, but with the advantage that you can invite friends in to play them with you if you want. You also get more clothes in your wardrobe.
Uru Live gives you extra ages, it doesn't take anything away. You can import your progress in the offline part into the online game (but it doesn't seem to import your avatar settings).
Online does take slightly longer to link to an Age because of the support for inviting people back.
