Thread: Moral after Bismarck was sunk???? | Forums

Does friendly losses in the game also affects the moral of the crew and the rest of germany itselfs???
Like when the Bismarck was sunk,i don't think the moral of the germany forces was at that moment verry good!
So if you doc one day in a port and ya get the news about some own U-boat losses, this would also affects the moral of your own crew!
Will this also be added in the game, except from changing moral during a game you also could start a mission with a bad moral??
The men who served on U-boats were one big family and what affects the one U-boatcrew will also affects other ones!!

Its just a thinking for this one,but will we see other U-boatcrews and captians when coming home ,even talk with them about what they experienced at see???
Is it also possible too meet other U-boats at sea like it happend in Das-boat???

Hope too get some answers on it.

I dont how something like moral should affect a submariner, these men were highly trained profesional soldiers,

in a life and death situation its hard to imagine that their mind would be on anything else other than getting out of the predicament they are in alive.

Maybe their enthuasiasim would be curbed slightly but thats probably about it.

There is a great remedy to cure 'moral' problems before going to a patrol - lots of back-breaking work, lots of alcohol, lots of women. UBoot crews had enough of it. Any talk about losses was a great taboo.

usually the more complicated something is the more likely it is to break,
thinking back to the days when the amiga was around you realise they is no one way to present a game,is there a formula for commercial succes?
The way the amiga would have handled the moral issue would be to display an image of the crew celebrating after a patrol and it would display a message like "moral restored"

Whats the bonus feature in the game going to be?in silent hunter you had an interview with a captain and a tour of the ship, silent hunter 2 you had the interview and vehicle viewer,in destroyer command no interview but a tpur instead, luftwaffe commander a kind of spoken interview.

hopefully it will be something on the lines of submarine tactics or maybe a naval encyclopedia will maps of the period(along with the shipping routes),a tour of a submarine base perhaps, hopefully it will be good anyway.

I know if I was operating at the time the Bismark sunk in the Atlantic I would take it very personal! I would explain to the crew what has happened and for us to take vengance against the Allied. I dont know. It could be a positive/negative effect on moral. Look what the Twin Towers did to America. They wanted revenge.
