What are these used for? I cannot see anywhere on BG&E website to enter these!

First, click on the Dark Room link on the home page, you'll then have to register a login name and password. This'll get you access to the Dark Room page, where you can input your savegame code. It's compared to other's internet codes to determine your ranking among other players codes. It compares stats such as overall playing time, number of pearls collected and so on. Plus it'll get you access to some exclusive goodies.
