    PS3 Patch Notes - 2/6/2014

Title Update 3 has been pushed live in all Sony territories. Here are the patch notes:

    Features:
Bass arrangements now display whether they should be ‘Picked’ or ‘Fingered’
Sorting the song list by tuning now separates the different tunings into separate sections rather than just ordering them by tuning.
Added help tips to the Calibration section of First Encounter
Fixed the influence that the guitar experience level questions at the start of the game have over a song’s starting difficulty to be more appropriate and significant
Improved Riff Repeater menu navigation of the Phrase Banner (You can hold down the phrase selection buttons to select longer sections)
Fixed Chord Book display; T for Thumb instead of 0
Fixed an issue where Score Attack would incorrectly award the “Perfect Phrase” bonus to phrases not played perfectly.
The in-game tuner is now more precise, and more responsive to guitars that have a low volume output. Guitars that previously could not pass tuning should have a much easier time of things now.

    Bug Fixes:
Fixed issue where song level and Mastery data were not being saved properly
Riff Repeater settings are now maintained more accurately between songs
Audio Preview issues in the Lessons have now been resolved
Fixed an issue where certain missions in the Guitarcade could not be satisfied accurately
FIxed issue on PS3 where the DLC song "Love Hurts" by Incubus did not appear in-game
    Improved general game stability

    FAQs:
Q: Where is the Xbox 360 patch and what will be in that?
A: The Title Update 3 for Xbox 360 is live! Check out the 360 patch thread for details.

Q: Where is the update for Steam (PC/Mac)?
A: All of these fixes implemented for PS3 today have already been rolled out to Steam as Steam permits us to patch more frequently and rapidly.

As usual, please let us know if you see anything unusual or surprising after the patch.

Yes!!!!!!! I noticed it is way better now. I switch between 3 guitars all different tunings and before the patch I even when tuned perfectly I still had to fight the tuner when switching guitars, now it as simple as picking up the other guitar and running through the tuning once because the game thinks I need to retune but it's really just a quick check and I'm in my way.

I also Noticed that the timing of the note detection is learn a song is off. I'm not sure if it's better or worse yet. Seems like I got more early/lates than I had before the patch. Maybe it's more strict now which would be a good thing for teaching accuracy in relation to timing.

I've noticed the opposite, my note detection seems to be a lot better now and I also sound a lot better, but more importantly, it is NOW SAVING MY PROGRESS!!!

Let me clarify, detection is fine, it detects every note and cord that I hit, it's more of the timing. I have a feeling they narrowed the detection window and where I was out of time before it wasn't caught, but now if I'm out of time I get the late or early notices. It's not a complaint whatsoever. More of an observation. And I do think that it will force me to focus on timing more now. In fact I had suggested in The suggestions thread to make LAS more strict with timing so it's more like score attack. SA can be frustrating with the fails because you think you're in time (because you are in LAS) when you're really not.

Well, after updating and letting it sit on a song title pane for awhile, got a crash right after finishing the song.

The PS3 wasn't so happy about it.

    -Crissa

Hasn't crashed since, but lost a few scores in the crash.

The tuner also shows how close to zero it is while tuning, instead of jumping to 0 when it's within 10. I like this a lot more now.
