Hiya,
I'm very new to this game but was wondering if there exists a BHD mod for GR. The way the game plays this would be like a perfect campagne to play out.

I recently saw the BHD movie, and watched it again with commentary from the veterans that were actually there and I've been so impressed and touched by how they experienced this. I started to dig more into the actual event and was shocked and appalled by the brutal comments that has been made by the media. Hell, it made me very angry even. These guys deserve nothing but respect.

Oh I do have a copy of the BHD game from novalogic (I own quite a few of their delta force series), but that still makes me wonder if something like this is there for GR

Update: I just checked and found at least two that sparked my interest. yay, more time is lost in what we call real life. but someone has to make that sacrafice, might as well be me :P

I actually found one on a German website (hey neighbor!), called payback, made by sixpence. the text provided in german sounds pretty good. can't wait to try it out. Both expansions Island Thunder and Desert Siege are required to play.

I did find some missions on ghost recon net, but they're MP maps/missions.

Mostly though, BHD mods are few and far between because of the sensitive nature of that event.

There have been many discussions about BHD mods. In the beginning, there was a lot of a bru-ha-ha about it becuse of the sensitive nature of it, but after Somali vets and survivors of BHD dealt with Novologic and collaborated on a game by that name, it was decided that mods for GR with that name were fair game.

If the vets didn't want games played based on it, then they shouldn't have OKed a complete game. Their arguments have gone out the window.

Well, I was looking at the Crashed Blackhawk Model by Chems earlier today, and it appears that GR.net won't host any BHD mod, as he mentioned Nishi's (enduring) project about it.

Don't get me wrong, I understand your point of view though.

What are thoughts about "similar" missions but make no claim to be a BHD mod?

For example, let's say my favorite movie is BHD, and I'm making a mod, and in my mod your platoon goes to rescue a downed chopper crew and wait for a rescue convoy. Isn't that what SAR teams do? Or, would the "uncanny" likeness to BHD label my mod a "BHD mod"? Even if I never make that claim myself?
