I am trying to build a new single mission with the notes from POMAK249 sinlge mission building.
My problem begins after I have selected the aircrafts in my flight. The instructions say to go to properties, I cannot bring up properties unless I put the plane on the map, the instruction do not say to do this. After the plane is on the map I am unable to select the "tick player" option for my plane. It is not available for me to select, it appears to be recessed. Any help is appreciated.

If the box is recessed then that plane is only for the computer. Not all planes are flyable in this game.

However, you can fly AI planes from the external view. There are posts on this forum that provide the details on how to do that. Essentially, you have to create the mission, close IL-2 FB and then edit the mission files with Notepad.

Sounds like the instructions you have are unclear, misleading or wrong. You can,t access properties and waypoints until you place the object on the map. It causes no harm to change any of these at any time in the FMB.

Once you set your a/c on the ground go to the Waypoints tab click the dropdown box and tick Takeoff. The deafault is Normfly. Then you can set # of planes, loadout, a/c and pilot skins and whether it will be a Player plane or AI.
