Thread: my latest map...i need a suggestion | Forums

    well i dont have a pic but it will be based on a mountainous area...the best looking mountains are the ones that are automaticly generated with autonaticly generated terrain...so i will just shape it up and make the mountains climable by making paths...my question is...wat is the perfect brush height and radius to create paths leading up a mountain...ive been playing around with the hieght and radius for about 2 hours and i just kept messing up the mountains...i dont expect a lot of people to know this but if u know please tell me.

    My way is kind of a trial and error kind of way, but here goes:
    Radius: 1
    Height: variable
    Get the same height as the foot of the mountain (ctrl+click) and click a part ways into the mountain, so you take a little chunk out of it, make your height a little higher and take another chunk out of the mountain a litte further away, to make sort of like a series of steps, leading up the mountain. After you smooth all of the edges and clean it up a little it seems to be rather effective..
    well, it hasn't failed me yet

    i think you should set the height to a hight number but hardness to the lowest number, and them make your pathe up.

    oh ya i forgot about the hardness...hardness is the key thing...im going to spend about 2 months on this map to make it very good.
