It's this sort of nonsense that has me really worried about this game.

If there is a legitimate threat to a Superpower nation like that, they don't rely on one dude flying around the world on a plane stopping individual attacks. If they know there's gonna a bunch of attacks, why the hell haven't they got ALL of the assets working together?

It just seems ludicrous and I'm starting to get more worried with every trailer that comes out that this really is going to be Conviction 2.0 with the storytelling..
I gotta agree with you here ShadowFox this story seems more ripped from a 80s/90s action movie than the Clancyverse.
Variable speed gives more control over your walk/sneak which in turn gives your animations a personal touch and increases re-playability. It is also tied directly into the AI sound system.
Analogue controllers where created to give you more control over your character and the Developers have a responsibility to use it.
For me it's a no buy without it.

Is anyone here really suprised by the August release date?

I mean UBISOFT always release there titles 6 months past the original release date with the exception of the annual titles like (AC).

Perhaps "of course" was a little strong... but we've always been looking at shades of counter-terrorism in SC and TC universes.

First off, great that we got to see some zip-lining, an inverted kill, and some other things. And I think that if you guys are taking the extra time to make the game polished with more added features, then great. However, from spring to August? That's a 3-5 months extension, pretty long if you ask me. I just hope that they're not changing their minds about stuff that we have been vibing on.

Zack, a couple of questions if you have the time:

    1) Can you expand upon what area(s) of the game they need the extra time on? Are they going to be beefing up multiplayer or something?

    2) Does this mean that we now have to wait even longer for juicy info, photos, and videos? I was really hoping to see a lot of Blacklist in the coming weeks/months.

    Move. Counter-move.
It's tough to present this when we're not (at least as of now) divulging the locations that you'll be going to.
About the story plot. This was inspire by book Splinter Cell: Checkmate?

If not, where you searched for inspiration in creating this story line for Blacklist?

If you're looking something special from Splinter Cell videos, (last my project was called Tactical Espionage from Chaos Theory - advanced ghost style), visit my fansite channel at this address: http://www.youtube.com/user/jaruto7?feature=mhee

Our ideas should serve as an inspiration for Ubisoft Torronto with new and innovative features in the right direction for Blacklist: http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...e-in-Blacklist

We need a purist mode similar to what Hitman: Absolution have, but with our rules: http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...40#post8582940

http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...list-Checklist Please support the checklist and hopefully Ubisoft will see the massive amounts of people who want to see certain, key features implemented.

Ubisoft... please add in a true variable speed system with an integrated sound system and if you have the time...other abilities, gadgets, and things from the first SC games such as split jump, etc.

We've definitely got a lot to talk about, Merrill... but yes, the release date shift obviously prolongs our communication cycle.

In Alex's statement, you'll see that we're focusing a lot of energy on balancing the play styles...
The team certainly recognizes the positive vibes coming from the community, so I wouldn't expect any drastic changes to what has been working.

We just want to make sure that when this ambitious bad boy comes out... it's as great as we envision and intend it to be.

I'm surprise by this date. Sumner/ August is usually the time when consoles suffer a drought from the lack of game releases. Most of the AAA games are usually release in the first quarter or fall going into the holidays. It could be either good or bad for Blacklist. Why not a November release date ? Unless another Ubisoft game is releasing in that month.

This fall is when the next gen Xbox and Playstation are expected to launch. So November would be a bad month for Blacklist. August is still kinda good, kinda bad to me. When Microsoft released the Xbox 360 in 2005 to get a head start on the competition, there were still plenty of Xbox players at that time. But this generation has been dragging on longer than any other generation. So the eagerness to get into the next-gen will probably be higher than last time.

Just as long as I get to play coop and SvM will a large fanbase, I'm not concerned. I won't be getting the next-gen Xbox for quite some time anyways.

Which probably means Coop and SvM won't be shown until May - July I expect. I'm wondering if there was a "tease" of coop and SvM in this trailer. Some other posters have commented about this possible "tease". But it might be nothing. I know you can't say anything about it yet, Zack.

This is not for certain. Next gen consoles could come as early as 2014. Besides I don't see new console having a bunch of new games on release date, so not everyone is going to be buying one, Also people would remember what happened when Xbox 360 was release and the RROD . Plus, there is already over 70 million consoles sold for Xbox and PS3 and people will not all of a sudden forget about them. Recent AAA games like Assassins Creed 3 for PS3/ 360 sold well even though WII U was release around the same time.

There is a chance Ubisoft might decide to push it back until fall or November since it's a big budget game and they might want a greater profit giving that it is the holidays and that's when people are expected to spend more. After all, Ubisoft is trying to target a larger base with Blacklist.
