Thread: Greetings! Some editor problems... | Forums

Hey all, glad to be here! I'm working on my first map now (mp_fjord) but I'm having a few problems getting the basics to load up in the actual game itself. It shows up under FFA in the multi menu, but when I try to load it it says "Error loading level resources" or some such. I have 2 spawn points, a vehicle with a phoenix trigger attached, 1 spectator point, and a couple islands to play on with beaches and vegetation. I just want to get the basics working before I go full blown for my goal. I have done an engine export and also a texture surface generation.

    Any help is much appreciated!

I haven't exported to the game yet, but theres a thing under the file menu called "export level resources" - maybe thats it?

Nope that does a raw export of files. Not a compressed pak (which I already have, by the way)

I just did a quick test and didn't have any problems. Are you using anything custom? Like custom textures and such.. ?

I made sure my first spawnpoint was called respawn0 - it calls the first respawn1 by default. I made a spectator spawn and another respawn point. I then created the FFA mission type, switched back to mission0 and deleted it. Made the FFA equip pack and made it the current player pack - exported to engine, started game/MP/FFA/MP_Test and it was fine.

I called all respawn points "players" as specified in the manual. Im not using custom textures or anything. I'm attempting to start the game under multiplayer (as it shows up as a FFA map) and i have also deleted mission0 in the mission settings.

Have you tried creating another test map, and seeing if you get the same error?

Yes, and I didn't, but I'd like to know what makes this editor so damn picky. I did the exact same thing each time.
