No - you should be fine with an 8500 and 512mB RAM - just don't expect to run it on the highest settings. Or even the medium settings - but it will still run![]()
Thanks for the reply Sorce. I got it to work on the low settings but thats not gonna cut it. Guess its time to go with the radeon 9800 pro. thx alot
if you can afford the 9800 pro by all means get it..........if you want to save some money(about $150) get the 9600 XT....$180 online if you look hard enuff....its all i could afford and its an excellent card for the money...(WAY BETTER than my old TNT2)...the demo runs great for me on the lower settings and looks just gorgeous.

Thx guys..how much does another stick of ram cost?
it depends, you need to find out what your current RAM is by opening up the case and having a look at the sticker on the side of your current RAM.
it will either be SDRAM (Cheaper but slower) or DDR RAM (more expensive but better)
if you have DDR RAM you also need to look out on the side of the RAM to see if its PC2100, PC2700, PC3200 or PC3500.
whichever one you have you just need to get another stick of the same, so if you have PC2700, get another 512Mb Stick of PC2700. You can get generic RAM, which is unbranded and cheaper, some people dont like generic RAM but ive got 1Gb of the stuff and its fine, or you can pay a bit more for a well known brand such as corsair or crucial.
places to buy: try ebay if you trust it, just make sure you buy from a proper computer shop on there. you could also try the forums at www.kustompcs.co.uk (if you english) as people are always selling RAM there. If your from the USA, then im sure there will be other trading forums on sites like www.frozencpu.com etc.
good luck
ps. remember if your inside your case, earth youself so you dont get killed!
