    [HELP] Game not starting.

I tried to play the game on my Laptop.
When I press 'PLAY' it just shows me an error: Could not find suitable display settings!.. and then it quits.
My laptop has an i5 processor with Intel HD 3000, and Radeon HD 7650M, although I couldn't access my Radeon HD on my ATI Catalyst driver control panel.

    Any help please?

Hi, your issue may be because it is a laptop, laptop versions of graphics cards are not supported but may still work. I suggest opening a ticket with Technical Support to see if they have a solution, the link is in my signature.

screen resolution seems to be the issue for me

I get the same error on startup. My specs are:

    i920
    8800gtx x 2
    dell 3007wfp 30 inch screen
windows 7 or 8 (tried both)

The interesting thing I noticed is that if I grab an old 15 inch dell lcd with a native res of 1280x1024 the game launches fine. My 30 runs at 2560x1600 native.

I've raised a ticket with ubisoft support but so far no response.Anyone know of any switch/parameter on start to disable this resolution check?

    thanks

I have the same issue with windows 8 and that same Dell 3007wfp.

After 6 hours of tech support, I still haven't been able to start the game.

solution: edit C:\Users\YOU\Documents\My Games\Far Cry 3\GamerProfile.xml and edit the resolution:
ResolutionX="2560" ResolutionY="1600" ( I changed it in a few places) and started the game. and it worked

    Problem Solved!!!

I have found the soution!!! thanks to kmartppants!!!

1.Check your screen resolution from control panel (mine is 1366*768)

2.Next go to your installation directory and open FC3Editor

3.The application will work or may not work (for me it didn’t work! If it stops responding, kill that using task manager). But don’t worry, after that check the following directory =>> Documents\My Games\Far Cry 3 (If you are using XP it will be in=>> My Documents\My Games\Far Cry 3) Don’t worry if your folder in My Games\Far Cry 3 is empty. After you open FC3Editor, GamerProfileIGE file will be generated automatically.

4.There will be a file named “GamerProfileIGE.xml or GamerProfileIGE”

5.Open it and change the ResolutionX to 1366 and ResolutionY to 768 (the value depends on your display resolution, check the first step)

6.Now save the file AS “GamerProfile.xml”

7.All done! Start the game and kill some enemies!

Tested on my laptop. Working great!!!
