Some have said, 2. Others have said 4. However, i find it takes 7 shots TO THE HEAD to kill one. Im playing on one setting higher than default with balanced AI enabled.

BTW, this is easily tested when you get to the bunker map. You will eventually find two caged and can shoot at will.

OMT, bunker is also where the Jackhammer makes its first appearance. Much better than the M4 for killing them damn mutated monkeys!

Well use Single Shot.

Single shot appears to do more damage.

after all it takes me about 5 headshots to down one of the monkey trigens

depends on the difficulty at medium i'd say about 4 or 5 shots
7 is probably right for challenging

I dunno but i have noticed it sometimes takes 2 or 3 shots to the head to kill a merc. And in mp a sniper to the face is not always an instant kill =/ Hopefully a real dmg mod will come out for this :P
