Yes, when I reinstall the program I am using the link you provided earlier (not sure if that was on this thread), the first times I reinstalled Uplay I got the update from the Uplay website, then when you gave the link I used that instead.

Thanks for your help, I also want to solve this issue so that any other players who might be having the same issue can fix theirs too.

No, there isn't. Can we post pictures in the forum? It simply is not there.

Omegatyrant i have the same problem, but i managed to get around it by doing this:

Go to the folder cache > patch. Copy the dll files, uplay.exe and version.txt from there.

Now paste in your default folder (C:/Program Files/Ubisoft/Ubisoft Game Launcher) and choose the option to replace.

Next, open your steam client and start the game from there. According to ubisoft's support, you always have to start the game from steam instead of launching uplay.exe first.

Below is the answer i got from my support ticket:

    "Hello Arthur,

Please keep in mind, Steam purchases must be launched from Steam due to their copyright protection software. Once you do, a special UPlay client will appear (designed to work with Steam) and logging in with your account should fix your issue!"

Try this to stop the looping

I installed the new version of the uplayclient, started it once so it could update, Then took note of the version.txt file that is created. Then I uninstalled it, reinstalled my original copy, applied the patch and changed the version.txt file to the new version. Now it doesnt try updating each time I start it. Might work?
