What good is creating a dinesty hero when you can not use him in your campaign? I have weapons for knights but none for mage. How do I get??

I use Quick Combat.

maybe your problem is here : using quick combat doesn't allow you to win with 0 loss (I don't know if it's the case with Heroes VI, but in previous opuses you always had losses with quick/auto combat).
And if you don't make combat with 0 loss, your troops are too weak when you encounter ennemy heroes.

No i have many time with no losses.

I passed haven 4 with a paladin. If you were a vindicator maybe you will fail because of low defense. I think mage is not all right too. Paladin should be okay. How to pass with paladin(People not interested much but maybe will be helpfull to you):
