    Thumbs up Game (Uplay) Quit Working... Again!

    When I went to play this morning, a "Uplay Updating" progress bar appeared. Without me doing anything, the progress bar then disappeared, without filling up at all, and the game launcher appeared. However, when I try to run the game now, it crashes... every time. I have tried restarting Steam, and that has no effect.

    Any one else seeing this?

    No, I just started the game and it works perfectly.

    Please try with reinstalling latest Uplay version from here:
    www.uplay.com

    Steam you say? Please check if the Steam also updated the game as there was a quickfix last night, I've posted the pic how details should look here:

    Reinstalling Uplay did nothing. Steam also does not seem to have any downloading that it wants to do to.

    The only thing that seems different than yesterday, when this was working perfectly, is that, when I launch the game, I see an "Updating Uplay" message, which promptly disappears without any updating taking place.

    Am I really all alone in this problem?!?!

    No idea, I stopped playing H6 and settlers months ago because of the conflux rubbish. I drop in now and again to check and see if it is fixed. Obviously not. Pathetic. Anyway, try verifying your cache in Steam. Go in to Steam, go to the game properties, then local files, and verify integrity of game cache. That will fix it if it is a corrupt file or missing file from the update. If it is a confux issue then good luck getting help from Ubi support.

    I'm officially starting to get nervous. I have now reinstalled Uplay and the game itself, and nothing is changing. Uplay opens, I launch the game, the small game graphic comes up in the center of the screen, then the game crashes before the intro video starts playing.

    Did anything change about the game on Tuesday? Was there a small patch that Steam brought down without my knowledge?

    Now I have also reinstalled by GFX card driver. Still no change in the problem.

    Found the Windows Event Viewer and the problem is due to some kind of patch. I think the version I was playing was 1.5.1, but here's the error log:

    I now realize that 1.5.2 was released a while back. I have no idea why my game has quit working, but I fear this may be the end of the road for me and HOMM VI.

    Still no joy. I went from the game working perfectly to being completely unable to launch it. I'm now in a (likely useless) conversation with Ubi Support, who have done nothing so far but ask me for my DirectX diag file.

    The only thing that I saw that seemed weird before the game quit working was that Uplay wanted to update, but couldn't. When I got home and onto a better internet connection, Uplay did successfully update. Still, however, the game just refuses to launch and crashes every time.

    I feel like some random and untraceable change occurred in some gfx or memory setting, and I have no clue how to find it. Does anyone have any ideas at all? I'll try anything at this point.

    I'm having the same issue.

    Heroes VI was working fine for me last weekend. Now all of the sudden when I try to launch the game from the Uplay window nothing happens.

    I had to go into the directory and launch Heroes VI manually to get Uplay to patch.

    There's no error message or anything!
