Newly installed H6 not showing any text | Forums

there is no text or any pictures on any screen in the game. i can see the knight on the left hand side and the graphics seem to be looking pretty nice in the back ground, but i can't see writing or have any idea what to do to fix it. also there is no sound after the initial start up cut scene. any help would be appreciated.
