I'm having a similar problem since I changed my video card. The game will only play on the lowest video settings, otherwise it crashes and reboots just before it finishes loading. If I learn anything I'll let you know.

    Athlon 2500+
    512 MB 333MHz RAM
    ATI 9500 Pro 128 (Cat 4.2 drivers)
    Albatron KX400-8X (KT400)
    Windows XP Pro

make sure you have your cpu fsb speed matched with your ram speed, cpu- 166 ram- 333.
Or else your pc will become very unstable.

the fsb of both my cpu and mem is at 100 mhz. I cannot put it higher than 133 for both otherwise my computer dosen't want to boot.
could you explain me ? because i thought athlons were running at 266 fsb and my memory has a clockrate of 400 mhz.

I had put both at 133 but like 4 days after, the comp dosent wanted to boot, so, i reseted the CMOS using the jumper and then, it putted the fsb back to 100, so, i dont want to increase it anymore.

ps : sorry for my bad english bcuz im french (from canada, not france)

I was able to get it to load and stop crashing by setting the antialising to "none" in the game and "application preference" on the 3D tab in the advanced display properties.

Hey, FarCryCommando, would you mind shortening your signature to like 3 or 4 lines please. nobody really needs to know what case you have, heatsinks, cooling systems, optical drives, floppy, monitor, keyboard, mouse, or headphones. something like this would be more suitable:

    AMD Athlon 64 FX-51
    2GB Corsair XMX DDR PC3200
    ATI Radeon 9800 XT 256MB

I know a few people find that signatures your size are quite annoying since a lot of posts are just 2 or 3 lines anyways. just a suggestion, thanks.

    What these buttons do?
    -----------------------------
    AMD Athlon 64 3200+
    ATI Radeon 9800 XT 256MB
    Corsair XMS DDR400 1.5GB
    2X Maxtor 160GB SATA 7200RPM | RAID 0
