When the features become available, you can access them by clicking on the 'My Space' tab above your post. Right now, they are still working on the forums.

You can place an avatar under your name by clicking 'My Space, then clicking 'Profile'. The space for adding avatars is about half way down the page.

Question for the moderators and other posters:

Should there be some kind of guidelines as to what format of pictures (jpg only or others as well?) and what kind of picture dimensions and file size are recommended for use in a sig on the forum?

This forum covers both the offline and online game and having broadband is thankfully not yet a requirement to browse it.

So some recommendations might help keep the forum user friendly and loading quickly even for dial-up users.

Just a thought. What do you reckon?

We're working on some guidelines stuff at present, and this is on the list of things to cover in any additional documentation we release on board usage. Thank you for bringing it up (you got it on the list, actually ).

That's good to hear. I think it's always good for new members of a community to have some idea of what is considered acceptable on a forum and what isn't. Every community is different.

Yes, we will be implementing the same guidelines for sigs as we had on the beta forum. The image should not exceed 125 x 600 pixels and/or 35k for a signature image. And any other images that are posted should be fairly small as well. If we see one that is really large we will be asking the poster to resize it or remove it.
