Cannot get through proloque Driver SanFrancisco

I downloaded the PC version last Sunday.

I started playing and get stuck on the same spot everytime. After shifting into the taxi a dialogue should start with the passenger. Also a marker should appear to get the next mission. This does not happen so I am driving aimlessly through San Francisco.

Did anyone else have this problem or a solution?

I checked all the walkthroughs and cannot fins any answers.

Are you sure? I’m pretty sure that when you’re inside the taxi you need to shift into another vehicle, no?

That is correct but the next vihicle should be marked and it is nowhere to be found. As far as I understood there should also be a a conversation with the passenger before you find the next car.

Have you tried shifting into just any random car? I think that’s what I had to do?

But yes there is a conversation, Tanner starts talking and the girl behind tells him to shut up, he’s just the taxi driver.

Correct again: But: The conversation never happens and the shift ability is not available anymore at that point. I played the scene about 10 times, trying different cars and taxis but no luck at all. It must be a glitch or bug. I might try a reinstall, but wondered if anyone else had encountered a similar problem. I also contacted customer support but so far no luck.

    Thanks for your kind suggestions

Forget support! Reinstall and see if it works!

I finally got mine installed correctly on another machine and got past the taxi. Turns out that when the game is installed correctly you also get the characters heads on screen when they talk. When I couldn't pass the taxi mission, there was dialog but no heads. My best guess is a corrupt download, maybe from resuming. I really wish ubisoft had file validation like steam. Actually I really wish ubisoft just used steam instead of having their own app.
