No kidding. Counter Strike is massive. It's the competetive shooter.

At the time of writing, Steam has this to say:
    Modern Warfare 3 34,081 online 34,700 peak
Counter Strike: Source 39,915 online 39,947 peak
Counter Strike 49,106 online 50,278 peak

It always makes me proud to be a PC gamer when I see genuinely great games like Counter Strike besting the juggernaut that the shooter for non-shooter players has become. Even when it's more than 7 years old now.

    Regards,
    Nexo

EDIT: Also, the new one's only in Beta and it's still getting pretty close:
Counter Strike: Global Offensive Beta 29,222 online 31,722 peak

even though i never heared of counter strike till a few weeks ago i like the idea that you only get one life and it forces you to work as a team even more than grfs because it seems more real i hope team based games are the future n run and gun games are the past afther blackops 2 i won't lie im gonna get blackops 2 but not 4 multiplayer or zombies but mainly for the campaign n trophies which will probably force me to play multiplayer and zombies (i hate zombies)

I know I can't wait for a new shooter. I love this game but it is, sadly, a very frustrating affair too often. Isn't there always a trial for arcade titles on Live anyway??

I've never played CS, but I don't get the appeal to it. It's basically the same game it was 10 years ago right? There's no aim button so all you can do is spray and pray and hope your random bullet gets a headshot before the other guy. The few youtube videos I found showed a LOT of people running with the AWP and quickscoping. So other than the nostalgia factor what's so good about it?

Well, I will be picking up Black Ops II only to play Campaign. I will be looking into Beyond: Two Souls, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, and Crysis 3. Therefore, I'll be sticking to GRFS in spite of the troubles. Hope for the best.

You don't spray in CS. People who spray miss a lot and die a lot.

In CS, most weapons have very small deviation between where the crosshair is and where the bullets hit (with the exception of SMGs). The catch is that most weapons also have high recoil, meaning that if you try to spray, you'll end up losing track of your target very quickly.

Yes, the AWP is a popular weapon. However, it's not easy to get kills with it as the movement speed for players is pretty high and, as stated above, they can very easily hit you back if you're not careful.

It's really something you have to try. I'll grant you that on the surface, it looks pretty simple. It's one of those games that's easy to pick up and hard to master though.

    Regards,
    Nexo

Putting so many achievements in MP is not a good idea when it comes to a "team" based game, especially in a game like Ghost Recon Future Soldier where team work is everything. I know companies have to sell games, profit is a big portion. But copying certain things that other gaming companies do because you think it will make the game more appealing is not the way to go.You want to know the reason people don't talk? why should they? There thinking its all about themselves and their own stats and achievements, screw everybody else. And makers of shooter games promote this dog eat dog mentality.

I remember when i tried playing it a long while back ago (easily about 10 years ago). Nexo, that is exactly how i remember it, it was a very challenging game but fun. At the point though, i was only really obsessed with racing games. Maybe i'll give CS a shot, i know they are great games, they just take a proper taste to (traditionally more of a "hardcore" player if you will) really get into......
