Using My Bass to Unlock the Secret Squirrel Club Songs! Shhhhh! Don't tell.

I've been anxiously awaiting the release of the bass expansion and I'm loving it. Playing multiplayer with a bass and a guitar is awesome fun. But, there's another little secret I discovered that made the $30 worth spending:

After just a couple of nights on bass, I've unlocked TWO more of the SSC songs! I've been playing guitar on RS for months (about 9 months now) and so far I've only managed to unlock Space Ostrich on guitar. But, I've played about 6 events on bass so far and I've already unlocked two more SSC songs - Ricochet and 6 AM Salvation. My son has unlocked Boss and Space Ostrich. Not sure why his are unlocking in a different order, but they are. No biggie - just something I noticed.

Anyway, here's the thing: The songs I unlock with my bass are unlocked for my guitar, too! Pretty cool. I really haven't been killing myself worrying about unlocking the secret songs, but I was starting to get a little discouraged that I could never pull off a double-encore to unlock a song. So, bass has been sort of a much-needed boost to my self-esteem! Plus, you know, I've gotten a couple of "free" new songs to play.

There is one thing we noticed last night that's a little weird: When we played multiplayer, the song that my son had unlocked which I haven't unlocked yet (Boss) was still locked in multiplayer mode. Neither one of us could open it to play in multiplayer. So, I'm guessing in order to play the SSC Songs in multiplayer, BOTH players must have unlocked that song. Just a guess.

That's just what I've always called the 6 unlockable songs hidden away in the original game.

If only squirrels could play instruments. Maybe then nature parks would be more thrilling.

I unlocked 4 secret squirrels on bass. I went nuts.

As an aside you NEED to use guitar to unlock SSB. There is no bass part but after getting the 4 secret songs I still needed to earn a crack at SSB I was motivated to do it and got it. Good luck.

I had already unlocked all the songs before the bass expansion came out, but if I hadn't I would have unlocked them all by now anyway. I've played about ten events and have scored a double encore in all of them. To be honest I'm a little disappointed. I don't play bass so I was hoping this would be harder. The only thing that gives me trouble is that **** popping and slapping.

Yes, this is a fantastic side effect of the bass expansion pack. I too had only unlocked 1 hidden song ("Jules") with guitar and I've been playing since the day Rocksmith came out. Last night I finally got a chance to download the bass pack and after 2 events I've unlocked 2 more hidden songs! ("Six AM Salvation" and "Boss")

Really loving this expansion pack. I've picked up basses in the past and plucked a few strings but never gave it a serious go. Man, I have a new found respect for bass players. I imagine this will do wonders for my guitar playing when I switch back to that.

You've hit another home run ubisoft... thanks!!

After playing nothing but bass for a week or so I felt like superman doing bends on those tiny guitar strings.

Haha. I've been playing emulated bass so everything I play feels like the same song with different octaves & rhythms.
