Thread: Installation issues | Forums

    Installation issues

I purchased the game today and I am currently trying to install it through the Uplay interface. The installer is giving me an error:

"Installer User Interface Mode Not Supported

The installer cannot run in the UI mode. To specify the interface mode, use the -i command-line option, followed by the UI mode identifier. The valid UI modes identifiers are GUI, console, and Silent. "

Seeing as how this runs through uplay, there are no options for using a command line. Where do I go from here?

    Edit: Update with progress

    - tech support was not useful at all
    - setting compatibilty mode to XP for uplay.exe, ubisoftgamelauncher.exe, driver.exe, and autorun.exe seems to have bypassed the error.

The only problem now is trying to get it to look right in 3840x1024

Hi all, I got the same issue, is caused by the ! symbol in your windows user account, is my case, so i create a new win 7 account and the error don`t happens. Instead I got another error, in the process of install the game suddenly say "installation roll back" and that's all. It says :

"The installation of Driver San Francisco has been rolled back.

Please see the installation log for details

    Any ideas?

    The answer is...

First, please note the Minimum Requirements section listed on the bottom of the game's box.
If Windows 8 is not listed beside the "Operating System" entry, the game is unsupported for use on Windows 8.
We cannot guarantee that the game will work on unsupported computer configurations.
If the game dont have a Windows 8 logo and from Ubisoft - do not buy

    Please try the below method for installing your game;

Locate the installation file which is normally called 'setup.exe'
Right-click the file and go to Properties
From here, click put a tick in the box that says; "Run this program in compatibility mode for..."
    Choose Windows Xp
Finally, double-click the setup.exe file and install the game
No answer fron the support were Uplay download the file. And in my question I say I install from Uplay and they nagging about a game's box.
Ubisoft Support = ashamed auto genes etching response.

I managed to in stall the game by right clicking on both the setup.exe and then the downloaded patch. Change compatibility to Windows 7.

So now installed new problem, the program Driver.exe is looking to find "binkw32.dll" so found a copy, virus checked it and placed it in the windows/system32 being a dll file.

Still no closer to getting the game to run on my LAPTOP. Any help would be nice. Ta!

BTW, bought a great little USB TV/Radio from Office Works (QLD, Australia) for under $50AU, "kaiser baas" TVStick, and it works with WINDOWS 8.....lol Great little Stick and was very easy to install and set up.

System: Toshiba Qosmio (Gaming) laptop, 3630QM (Quad Core) 16GB RAM, 1.75 TB hdd, 17" 3D Vision Display and backlit keyboard, running a GE Force 680GTX 3GB (DDR5) Graphics Yes, it is a real desktop replacement. (has nice metal case, and weight is 3.4KG) So it is a good machine to test games to their max!
