Despite how bad they were, they still bring memories

The past few days, I've thought about ACB & ACR (which both have unfortunately failed to be nearly as good as the first 2 games). But despite how bad they were, I still get a nostalgic feeling every time I think of them both, especially when I listen to their soundtracks. ACB, was straight up a horrible experience for me. I didn't like it at all. Why I didn't like it, I don't know. Just something about it made me dislike. But anytime I listen to Echoes of the Roman Ruins, my heart starts to ache. And anytime I listen to any Constantinople city soundtracks, my heart explodes, and I feel so weird inside. ACR was great when I first got it. I actually loved it for the entire week. But after that, the game felt unplayable. That's when I started to "hate" ACR. Of course I didn't hate it, I just got bored of it and all the good memories were erased from that point on. The only time good thoughts come about those 2 games are random days when I just reminisce.

What are your thoughts about those 2 games. Do they still bring memories. Why or why not?

People use the term "bad game" far too liberally. A bad game is a functionally broken game. A game that's basically the same as an excellent game except shorter and prettier, that is not a bad game. If we hadn't all played so many video games, we would have no problem with games never changing at all. Once you sample many flavours of something, each new thing needs to be even more drastically improved and different for you to feel the same about it. It's why people always think that music and movies and everything gets worse as they get older: they're biased because of all they've experienced.

The reason you have good memories about the previous games is because you put the disk in the tray, loaded it up, and played a functional and well-designed modern game. You may not have appreciated it fully because of experience bias, but you didn't actually experience anything bad.

I found Brotherhood's story a bit dull, but loved it, and found Revelation's to be fantastic. Mechanically I'm amazed at all the fixes they brought in, and additions. I loved them.

    This.
On this land, I am torn. Part of me wants to fight and repel all outsiders. The other part of me is the outsider. In the name of Liberty, I will fight the enemy, regardless of their allegiance. While men of courage write history of this day, the future of our land depends on those who are truly free.

I actually liked brotherhood, Its fun, I love that chase theme, and it looks so pretty! :3

I liked ACR but when when I finished it I just felt as if It was just brotherhood but with upgraded graphics with a different setting.

    And added in slow-mo.

I am a Panther player because being "The Hunter", "The Predator" or "The Silent Killer" appeals to me more.

I have to agree - people are far to hard on ACR.

ACR was a good money maker for AC3 though.

I have such good memories from ACB! I love that game.
    I've replayed it many times.
It was an extension of AC2 but i think the story and especially the soundtrack were still very good!
The Borgia family is such an interesting family and are the perfect templars.

I also really like the end of ACB where you have to play as Desmond at the colosseum.
Especially the part where you have to jump in the hay, the same place where Ezio jumped in the game. It felt so awesome!
All the cryptic stuff Juno said was also pretty nice.

The antagonists in ACR felt kinda dull and rushed, also the grey area they tried to portray felt like a failed attempt, especially the moment when Ahmet said to Ezio that he wouldn't kill Suleiman but only wanted to kidnap him. That was a real story failure because if you fail the mission where you have to dress as a minstrel, they will KILL Suleiman.
