can somebody please tell me how can i upgrate the characters on the multiplayer ranked games?

Hi,
if you mean to unlock new characters like the spy,you just have to kill enough enemies until you reach the number of points to unlock some new character.
Then an unlock option will popup in the game's menu.

And if you mean to upgrade the player's skills while you're playing a match, press the "T" or "Escape" key then click on the highlighted upgrade option. (like more health or more speed upgrade)
But you need to kill enough enemies before to upgrade your character.
You'll see a message on your screen while you're ingame.

And after a lot of frags, your weapon's color will change into silver, then gold...

You can unlock silver weapons early by reaching $200 000. You can also unlock them by putting a code in the exclusive content section in the main menu (search for the code on google). To unlock golden weapons you need to reach $1 000 000.

I'd reached this monney amount many times but i loosed golden weapons once i had to reinstall and fix the game
Or my pc.
So it's easy to get golden weapons without code if you play regulary.
