Could someone please explain to me why GRFS 'disconnects from server' all the time??

Is it because the multiplayer is based on a Peer 2 Peer system? Is it a bad P2P system or is P2P inherently bad?

Was the game ported terribly? Or is it difficult to successfully port the multiplayer aspect of a console game?

Is it Ubisoft's way of coding multiplayer for their games because Splinter Cell Conviction's multiplayer was just as awful and I've heard other negative reports from their other games' multiplayer?!

I just want some clarification on this as none of the other numerous multiplayer games I've played have such atrocious connection problems!

Ubisoft is fooling us since release date with telling us to wait for updates. There are still huge connection problems, Ubisoft dont know how to solve this issue. Thats the conclusion after waiting for months. Dont wait fir any hope or fake updates anymore, they cant solve it. You have to understand that we all been scammed together for maybe nearly a million euros or evenmore. I wish one day someone can breng charges against Ubisoft and that Ubisoft refund my 50 euro for this game which is not working.

Yeah that's pretty much how the game plays for me... Somedays I'm able to get into quite a few games while other days I might only get into 1 =/

Wish I hadn't have paid money for this! =(

I've tried pretty much every thing thats been suggested.

eg . open / portfoward GRFS's various ports

some posts even suggested disabling anti-virus (which I did), closed down Win7 firewall entirely, DMZ etc

after disabling anti-virus, it worked for a little while and after rebooting it doesn't connect any longer sigh ...

its an awesome game frankly, but not being able to play online just puts the game down couple of notches

i've replayed the campaign from noob to elite and back again... i'm tired of waiting for the fix

peer to peer is unstable, host might be dropping connection to you, thus the disconnect

Please do not use DMZ on PCs this opens every port and is a serious security risk.

Do you have anything running in the background when playing? or on your network?

Haha. Well if they thought P2P was a good choice for multiplayer then I seriously hope some questions are asked of their technical decisions.

@UbiMush, Thanks, I appreciate you trying to help but I've already exhausted a couple of tickets with Ubisoft support...turns out there's nothing amiss on my side of things (as all other multiplayer games work just fine on both my PCs, even without having to open ports, create firewall exceptions etc.)

I just wanted an explanation that's all! =)

Don't know about you, I just wanna play. I don't care how things get fixed, just that they do get fixed. That is why we paid for the game, is it not? Otherwise GR:FS should of been clearly labeled as beta testing to the public and should have been free.
