Talking My Far Cry 3 Box Art

First off, not sure if this is the right catergory for posting my art as I have just joined.

Secondly, I am 14, and have only been doing photoshop for a little over a month (Will have to use it alot in my GCSE's so I thought I'd get a head start), and I had to do this twice as the first one I accidentally deleted. Opinions and constructive criticism would be much appreciated.

Also feel free to check out my other Far Cry 3 artwork on my photobucket album: http://photobucket.com/SamJoyWallpapers

This is the remake of the remake, made it using the feedback I got.

Not bad! Although, if I may sugggest, :3, make the main cover a little more about your experience. Jason's time on the island isn't all about the Doctor. And on the back, I love the design, only, try to fit similar text into a different space, so some of the pictures could be larger. Other than that, it's pretty awesome, bro!

Thanks dude. I know the doctor isn't really a main character in the game, but I found the template for the doctor, toyed around with it and thought it looked awesome so I used it. I will defo be making more box art, maybe another for Far Cry 3 using Jason.

I made a few cutouts in Photoshop a while back, they aren't too difficult, as long as the eraser hardness isn't 100%, try one for yourself! It takes a little while, but it can pay off in the end.

I'll give it a go, not too many Far Cry 3 character images floating around the internet at the moment though. But I'll try it tomorrow.

You did a really good job on this considering you havent had alot of experience with Photoshop.

Here is a few tips though:

You should present the cover in a 3D presentation, It makes it look more alive!

It doesnt make sense having the doctor on the front. The front should always represent/show what the game is about. Having Vaas or jason with maybe the island in the back of them and some action scene or something would fit and let the person looking at the cover, get a feel of what the game is about.

The Farcry 3 Logo on the front is a bit off. It should be centered.

Having a shadow behind the Doctor is not needed.

Altought i know that you wanted him blurry because of the shrooms in the game, its also not needed and looks odd.

You should add a Ubisoft logo at the bottom right on the front.

The shadow behind the Farcry 3 logo on the spine is also not needed, because the logo is white. Same goes for the Ubi logo that you should make white.

It looks a bit empty where all the legal info are on the back. You could add some logos to fill it out or simply re arrange the infos and logos. It looks somewhat scattered all over the place.

The back is also too text heavy. Theres isnt any plot on the back.

The red highlighted words on the back is in Caps wich is good but the rest of the text wich is white could look better un capped?

The back is somewhat plain and could use some renders or something.

All in all, its pretty good but theres alot to improve. I do love them colors though. Hope i could help a little bit.

Good job man and good luck.

Thanks for the tips dude, like I said I did have to remake this, in the original there was a ubisoft logo on the front and the doctor had no shadow. I know what you mean about the shadows on the spine aswell. Sadly the font on the back doesn't go uncapped, but I think it looks less wordy uncapped. I'm going to give it another crack tomorrow using feedback I get so thanks.

Wow yours are amazing, liking the GTA V box art. I am definitely going to practise a lot more box art and maybe get some edited hand drawings in there too, because I've always preferred pen to paper art - till I started photoshopping. I see what you mean about the 3D display now, but I have no idea how to do it. xD I hope to one day achieve designs as good as yours.
