    Please help, game keeps crashing!

Hey, just yesterday I bought IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover on Steam, after installing it I went on to do the training missions and everything went fine. However when I was done training and started the RAF campaign. The first mission worked just fine, however when I would start the second mission the game would show my desktop rather than the game. The sound works fine and I can still control the plane (For example, if I shoot I can hear it but I don't see anything). After trying many times and even reinstalling the game I went on to try the German campaign, however in the very first mission this problem appeared allready. The same goes for all the quick missions and single missions. I haven't tried multiplayer yet.

    My system specs are
    Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz.
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 32-bit.
    GeForce 9600 GT videocard.
    3.6 GB RAM.

What can I do to fix this? It would be a shame if I bought this game and can only play the training missions. Someone please respond.

    Had this problem myself.
Maybe the Win 7 32bit is the problem.

A friendly pilot on a server advised me, to try to expand the RAM usage (I only have 4 GB and the 32-bit version is not using this fully.
Have a look at the following site:

This bcdedit command has solved the problem for me. No launcher crash for more the 20 hours flying...And I can join multiplayer, was was not possible before
    (Running with this latetes beta-patch.)

Wether it solves the problem or not I do not know, as when I try to type bcdedit /set IncreaseUserVa 3072 into command prompt it tells me "bcedit does not get recognized as a intern or extern order, program or batchfile" in Dutch.

What am I doing wrong? I'm running it as administrator.

    EDIT:
I noticed a silly typo which caused the above error, but now i'm facing a new error:
"Het opgegeven type elementgegevens wordt niet herkend of is niet van toepassing op de opgegeven vermelding. Voer bcdedit /? uit voor hulp met the opdracht regel. Kan element niet vinden."

Which would translate to something like

"The stated type elementdata does not get recognized or is not applicable on the stated message. Type bcdedit /? for help with the command line. Can't find element."

    2nd EDIT:
I changed the value to 2512 and it worked. Restarting now, will report back.

I just tried it, it seems to work.

Since you helped me could you help me with another problem? When I start a plane and give it some throttle it starts steering to the left. I have to hold X to counteract it but when I make enough speed and take off (as in lift off the ground) the pull to the left becomes even stronger and I can't counteract it anymore, and spin into the ground.

    What am I doing wrong?

Hm, the 3072 value worked for me.

Which plane are you talkimg about ?
Remember, that in planes with 2 engines, you have to "coordinate" these. (its "choose all engines" or something similar in the control section. Give this a keyboard command and the engines
    will be in line then).
Or are you talking about a single-engine fighter ? I have not seen such a breakout. A very small deviation, but nothing of importance.

I appear to be having this problem with every single plane in the game. Important to note is that if I turn the landing/takeoff option off in realism so I start flying I do not have this problem, so it's easy to fix but I like taking off and landing for obvious reaons .

    That is strange.
I have an old joystick, but everything works fine with it.
Is there a chance to calibrate your joystick in some way ?
Or verify the programm integity via steam (vanilla version) and then install the patch again (JSGME is helpful).
    No better idea...
