Defeat a shark by using our bare fists. I remember adding this to the wish list topic.
Now, my wish has been granted. Thanks a million!
At least this for me confirms Far Cry is back.
The Core Mechanics that made the original game still one of the best FPS games ever are back.
The Camera is a natural evolution to the original BINOX tagging system
The Outposts have the alarm system back and stealth actually works as it should
The influence from Ubisofts AC series and opening up the map is a good addition and expands greatly upon the original
All this and throw wild animals into the mix and a compelling story this game is going to be great
Not so sure about Grizzly bears in the jungle but I understand Canadians still want to feel at home perhaps
You know where you are? ... Your in the jungle baby...... Your gonna die.....
A good First-person Shooter should:
- have precise, manual controls - e.g. no auto-aim
- put balance, challenge and fun above realism
- be full of fast-paced real-time action
- let cunning, intelligence and skill decide who wins (PvP)
- have simple mechanics: easy to learn but difficult to master
The first thought that came to mind upon seeing that shark gameplay footage:

The game being described is sounding better and better. I particularly like the idea that a combination of events, random, AI-led and/or player-led, could lead to truly unique experiences. This was partly achieved by GTA4 and RDR, and less so by sandbox games such as just cause 2 and saints row. What spoils it for me is varying levels of persistence. In the worst case, one might move a few metres away from a unique event, only to find that everything has been reset when you go back there a few seconds later. I appreciate that a truly persistent sandbox world would consume a vast amount of resources but I hope they are able to achieve enough to support the experience described by Dan Hay on current generation consoles.
FC2 had its share of unique experiences and I loved it for that. Occasional game-breaking glitches meant that a robust saving system was necessary and I hope they improve on this for FC3. It would be a shame if an important NPC fell into the sea while being chased by tiger and was eaten by a shark! (awesome though)

oh thank god , I remember once making a topic about realism and how one of my major points where how u should roll on the ground after escaping a fast moving vehicle if someone can remember and I'm really glad the listened to me![]()
