For now, you CAN have 3D games with Adobe Flash. Once that is gone (hope not), you can use Unity or WebGL.

Well, there are 2 definitions for free: Free as in free beer and free as in free speech. This uses a third: Free as in "feel free to give us copious amounts of money."
FTP (free to play) or Freemium games are often more like free to lose. You can play for free, but the best stuff, the stuff that gives you a decent chance to win is usually not free.
Sure, rumour has it that there are fair and decent FTP games out there, where you pay mainly for shortcuts (say it's a racing game. You can either start with a Polo and drive in the lower classes until you can afford a Ferrari, or you can pay some money and skip that), or the paid content is mostly cosmetic, like TF2' hats, but Ubi's conduct, both in general and with Heroes, leaves little doubt that this is going to be an expensive free game.
My guesses for paid content:
Higher-level artifacts. Minor and medium will probably be free, but major and relic will cost you. And all sets will contain those.
Factions. You'll get 3 or so free ones, the rest will cost you. In terms of HVI factions and balance: Inferno: free, Necropolis: paid.
Unit tiers. Champions, and maybe even elites will cost you. I suspect that the balancing between tiers will be top-heavy.
Skills. In HVI terms, stuff like Cleave and Counterstrike 3 will only be available for cash.
Resource boosters. That means buildings that increase the resource output of mines, town halls, the number of units available to you. Probably includes an XP boost option
So. it will be free to play, if your idea of fun is playing against a guy with better skills on a higher level, better items and more and better units, not because he did a better job, but because he had 80 bucks to spare.
well this what ubi said they where NOT gona do. But free to play dosent meen the game will be free. But i think it would be more like time is money. so if you are young and have time to play you dont have to use in real money. If you are old and have money but no time. you can buy time.
But they are gona stay true to ftp.

Their word doesn't exactly count for much. They'll find a way to twist out of it, like they did with the promised free faction.
