Calling all lefties!!
Why oh whY!!!
The new update has 'fixed' the way the game displays for left handed guitar players. How do I know this? I'm a left handed guitar player, player almost daily for 8 months and now? the display is all wrong! Everything is crooked! Put it back!
Why did you change it? Why wHY wHY!! ARRRGHGHHHHH. I'm gonna go cry..... *sniff*
At least make it an option in the settings!
I *WAS* gonna buy some more DLC, (i've already spent at least $60 on songs, now I'm rethinking even playing the game anymore, thanks alot UBI you ruin it for me.)
(P.S. If you had done this to the legion of right handed players, you would have had a revolt on your hands,...)

I am also lefty, but I haven't played the update yet. Exactly what did they change?

The display is now at a 45? degree angle to the left. Before it's was 45? degree angle to the right. So if you are used to the "right angle", you will notice a significant difference in the appearance.
Before, the notes on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc frets appeared closest to you. Now notes from the left side of the fretboard appear closest, ie, 12th is closer than 11th, 11th, is closer than 10th. Best way to describe is the view angle is really, really different. Especially since most song notes are under the 12th fret, you are looking at lot of the notes "off in the distance," if you are playing left.
Of course, if you are playing right handed, nothing is changed, and the update is perfect, fixed alot of bugs, thanks UBI, etc... If you are lefty, you might disagree... Like I said, if they had done this to right-handers, there would be pitchforks and torches...

I'm thinking this over and over. I want you all to know that I'm really, really pissed about this. Like fuming. Livid. You've basically ruined guitar for me at this point. I'm so mad. You **** *** **** ***.
GRRR.
First time I picked up a guitar was rocksmith and possible the last time I put it down will be rocksmith. It's like you did it on purpose or something. Sriously, are you picking on me for a reason??

I wouldn't think that it would take very long to get used to. Give yourself a few days to get used to it. You probably won't be able to tell the difference after a week of playing. I grew up using tab, but started playing Rocksmith in it's default position (Low E on top as opposed to low E on bottom like tab). Now if I try Rocksmith in tab position I fail miserably. But I'm sure if I played it that way for an hour or 2, I'd be fine. You're only talking about the angle that the notes are coming at you. That shouldn't be a big deal.

The dev team is really sorry to have ruined the experience for you. It was always the intention to have the lefthanded view be a mirror image of the right handed view, but a game camera bug was preventing that on initial release. The patch included the fix to that bug which automatically changed it to the way you see now. We didn't intend this to be a surprise, and apologize for not communicating this earlier. There currently is no setting to choose the view.
I would ask you spend a day or two to see if you're able to adjust. I very much would like your feedback on the readability of the lefthanded interface.
If you want to try to revert, I'm not totally certain, but you may be able to delete the patch data to get the game to look how it used to (but will be unable to play bass) I don't know if your save data will be backwards compatible to the previous patch.

I will spend more time trying to adjust. I have feedback for you already, although. With the old "righthand" view, the notes "in the distance" were to the right and further away from the viewers perspective (8th, 9th 10th, etc frets),. This caused those high notes to appear close together, and possible out of order, due to the angle. It didn't matter as much, because higher notes don't happen as often in songs.
Now with the new 'lefthanded' view, its the low notes that are now off in the distance, close together and possibly out of order, again due to the angle. This matter immensely more because 75% of the notes in all songs are under the 7th fret. Now the 1st fret is the most distant from my perspective and the 21st fret is closest. I have to look 'further away' to see the notes I'm most used to playing. Now chords mixed in with single notes look like a jumbled mess in a smaller area of the screen, especially in a complex arrangement.
Also the camera movements now gives me motion sickness (although that might be just the feeling of disgust I'm experiencing right now).
I will try the new view for a while, but I do hope that I'm treated to more than lip service by the UBI staff here. This is a problem that someone should investigate. You need to do better than this.

You should probably put this in the issues thread.
That way it will be sure to be seen by the developers.
Edit: I see Rocksmith-Matt has found it already. He is a good one.

Yes, im lefty and yesterday i was playing all the morning. Always perfect but.. i saw the image "different". But i didnt find why...
think that when the songs run in high frets sometimes was very difficult to follow the notes coz there were "far away". Now it will be easier
