OMG I love Merlin and the Guild! Felicia Day is amazing and the show is hilarious And Lola, do you cosplay or anything for the costumes or just for the fun of sewing?

I love Felicia Day! I met the whole cast of The Guild at SDCC this year! They're so nice. I got all of their autographs also. I am currently making a Codexx costume but every time I have a chance to work on it, I get another map order or a costume order so I've never actually finished a costume to cosplay. I'm trying to have this one finished for next SDCC though. Do you cosplay?

I have a few cosplay outfits. Never had the chance to attend a con and wear them, but my friend's get a kick out of them at Halloween I'm working on 2 LoL ones atm, Sona and Ahri. The Ahri is a challenge, since her tails are giving me nightmares getting them right!

How are you trying to make them?

The way I'd do it is to get long haired fabric and sew it in the shape of tails. Basically cut 2 tail shapes and sew together but leave the part that would connect to the body unsewn. Then take flower arrangement wire and stick it inside, make sure it's quite a bit longer than the tail itself, you'll use the wire to connect all the tails. You can use flower tape and fabric glue to keep the wire in place. Then fill the tail with batting or stuffed animal stuffing until it's as full as you want it. They'll be a little heavier this way, but they'll also be contollable, you can pose them with the wires however you'd like them to sit.

To attach them to the dress, you can make a belt that'll blend in with her dress. You can take the long ends of hte wire and sew a belt around that, so that you're whole body is holding it up and it'll be supported better.

oh man great ideas, I have afriend who's a phenomenal seamstress helping me with the outfit and tails. She's never tried cosplay outfits before so we're both learning along the way. I'll definitely pass those ideas on to her! I like your flower wire idea, I was trying to use just bent metal coat hangers, and they were extremely heavy with the stuffing and everything that they kept drooping off the back. Thanks again!!!

If I'm not gaming I'm usually reading comic books or watching my collection of zombie movies. I also like to go out an explore the area, I'm temporarily living in Germany right now so I like to explore the food here and the stores. I usually only go to the gym right when I wake up so I don't consider that part of down time.
