You should want to win without other players making it easy on you.

if I pull a RRD and come close enough to you it's because you let me get that close to you. If I know you're going to smoke and I run up a wall for an acro that's a smart move on my part. As I've learned to counter you, you need to learn to counter me. That's what being competitive is all about. You can get annoyed at OSBers but it's not gonna change the fact that you failed to adapt and counter them.

Agree with Rita, and just to add a little more:

If you are going to complain about an extra 200 points for a hidden bonus, what about poison? What about streaks? Not the mention the fact that this means one of their abilities is gone for defense, leaving them more vunerable. There is a tradeoff for everything. Also, being your pursuer, you don't have a portrait of them to look for anyway, so it shouldn't matter what they look like. You should be able to identify them through whispers and observation as you would with a non-disguised pursuer.

Fair enough about OSB, though there are ways to avoid it. I don't like OSB but at the same time I don't rage to the max from it, usually if someone OSB's me I will just return the favour and get myself a good focus / posion / hidden or whatever.

As for running, that's pretty ridiculous. After all, Assassin's Creed is not a complete stealth game. One of the most important and major features is free RUNNING. Although I agree that sprinting balls to the wall for the whole game gets tedious, you can't expect everyone to walk everywhere.

    This, couldn't agree more.

Disguise is an extremely powerful ability, the hidden bonus is just the cherry on top. With the short cooldown and the cooldowns bug it's more effective than poison.

I can understand that RRD can be annoying in team modes, where your mind relies a bit too much on your pursuer's persona and you can be caught of guard, but in FFA modes this isn't an issue. You hear whispers and see a persona cutting towards you, if you're not doing something about it, they really do deserve the bonus.

I use RRD on defense as much as I use it on offense, it's a great way to break chases and surprise pursuers. The hidden bonus is a really nice touch, but there are other advantages to it. In team modes it's a powerful tool to break stunlocks and apply poisons, while in Wanted it's extremely useful when you have multiple pursuers.

A lot of abilities can become overpowered when properly used, personally I find firecrackers annoying as hell, more than OSB. They expose both your target and pursuers with a super short cooldown and a huge range (not to mention how helpless they make you feel xD). Knives are powerful, mute is powerful, smoke bomb is extremely powerful... Disguise is just another great ability, but they all have their strengths and weaknesses. You just need to learn to counter them.

    1. I think the **** everything that is now in the place that the requests were is a good sign that I want this thread dead and buried.

    2. These were all requests, at no point did you have to follow them.

    3. With poison you are taking a risk, you might get intercepted and lose your 1300 point kill. With Disguise the risk is minimal.

    4. Streak bonuses: you got 3 kills in a row so you get a reward for not dying.

    5. I don't hate Disguise Poison, I hate the play-style it encourages. (which is you have no defensive abilities so you run constantly

    6. You're saying OSBing is a legitamate tactic despite being an exploit of game mechanics and you also say that using it makes a player competitive. (not sure about that, but that's what it sounds like)

    7. I said limit your running, not don't run. Does anyone like a game where everyone is running and it's nearly impossible to get an Incognito?

    8. Yes all abilities have their advantages but to use your analogy, they don't need the cherry, the ice cream is the reason you eat it; not for the cherry.

Au contraire... I buy the Ice cream just for the cherry :P Troll over.

With Smoke Bomb, you have a legit no-risk Focus Poison, your point is?

Gracias por la firma TheHowlerrr It's awesome sauce!
    I don't taunt!

As a wise Mario Auditore once said to a young Ezio "You are not Vieri. Do not become him."

I actually imagined the cherry on a cake xD

I do not like being OSBed and I very rarely use OSB. I used to get really pissed off when I was being OSB-focus-poisoned until I realized that it was really my fault. I should've used mute or just ran away, not stand there with a stupid look on my face and hope they fall for a lure, since they're clearly skilled enough to identify me and smoke me for the God-knows-what-time. Now when I'm being OSB, it's usually when I throw my own smoke and we're both coughing. I know that I'm already dead when it happens, but at least they wasted an ability and didn't focus poison me. Mute is very helpful to counter OSB, providing you can identify your pursuer in time.

As for running, this isn't usually my style but precisely because it's not my style, it makes me so vulnerable when used against me. If my target is running away and I don't feel like chasing them, I kill an NPC and move on. But when a pursuer runs towards me, 9/10 times I die like an idiot through my own smoke bomb, ruining my streak and wasting an ability on nothing.
I'm also helpless when I'm being roofed, but if I'm in a lobby like that I bring mute so I can at least run away and get out of the aerial range and just try to stand where I can't be roofed (very tricky on Florence x_x).
Those tactics annoy and frustrate me because they're so powerful against me and I fail to counter them properly. But you'd be wise if you used that against me in a competitive lobby, I guarantee I'll have a tough time countering you.

As for disguise, I already covered other advantages to using it, so I'm not gonna repeat that.

It's funny, I think you'd actually find my playstyle very comfortable (minus the disguise), but I'm making a general case here that you should try and be more open to other playstyles, even the ones you don't find comfortable using yourself. I understand (and partly agree) with your preferred playstyle, but since your original request was to play with the pros, I assumed you like to be challenged and see if you can outwin the best. In this case, accept the challenge fully and see if you can win even when the game is not being played in your home field.

I'd really like to see a competitive match (wanted and manhunt) without any abilities at all. It's not the same as simple deatchmatch and could be very interesting to see how it plays out.

    5. I use disguise poison, and I dont run that much.
I use disguise and deception to get clean stuns.
Or I run away sometimes to hide and try to stun my pursuer in unsuspecting place, or get an escape.

    7. Even though if everyone else is running its not difficult to get incogs. Some flanking and stealth is all it needs.
