Which Silent Hunter should i buy?

    Hi.

Well i recently got interested in Sub games and simulators are quite nice in general, nothing nicer it seems then preying on an enemy task force and firing a volley of torpedoes and sinking perhaps 2 ships at one volley.

In any case. I have read some nasty stuff about SH5 and the fact that i hear that you have to walk trough the sub to get to instruments can the nice feeling of the game too, realistic sure but in previous SH games i heard you could just switch a button and you could be going from the top from being spotted by a Battleship and descending in a flash, in SH5 i heard you have to go down to sub and tell the crew to descend the ship down below the sea before you are dead in the water.

So, which should i buy? I have not played sub simulators before but i do learn fairly quickly.

So what would you recommend? SH 3, 4 or 5?

Also is there a mod or something to 5 yet where you can just go out to sea and hunt ships freely? I hear in 5 you can only hunt ships in missions.

    Hello Liondrome,

I play SH4 and like it. SH3 and SH5 are setup in the Atlantic and you command a German sub.
SH4 is in the Pacific and you mainly command a US sub but with the add-on you can also command a German sub.

I cannot recommend, SHV because there are just to many problems. But I highly recommend SH4, although it is getting old, it runs smooth.

Ubi dropped support for SH5 very fast after release.
This site has never had any sort of support for users either.

If you want to know about SH5 - goto a site where people believe it is a great game and try and improve it
