    Scout

I love to play as a scout, but I just don’t see what my role is. A rifleman is a tank and is offensive role. So is an engineer, but what am I supposed to do when I play as a scout. I use smgs. any tips

With SMGs you are the 'speed' and 'flanker'. Your mobility and maneuverability means you can get behind the enemy more often, with the adv camo you can even avoid detection from UAVs. With SMGs your weapons come up quicker and you can round corners faster, so technically speaking you can clear rooms quicker than a rifleman. If you can get in front of the team and plant claymores perhaps and then fall back, that gives your team more breathing room

P90 w/Silencer, FMJ, short barrel and under gassed with Claymores or Stun Mines. I go with EMP and x3 scope or smoke and IR scope. IMO Augmented Cammo is a waste.

Vector, red dot, over gassed, compensator, front grip. Claymores, EMP, and handgun as backup.

I load myself with clamores and emp grenades, with an smg - i use p90 with AP, red dot and an OTR scanner - and a stun gun. Move quickly to objectives and work out where to place your clamores, if done right you should get at least one person per pair. Take cover and start spotting enemies. with ap ammo you can tear apart anyone the gets in your way. Stay close to point giving intel assists (OTR scannner) and watching out for the enemy. Your speed means that you should sacrafice yourself if they start taking the point and you are nearby, this will buy your team much needed time. Keep playing like this and your ability will go up and you'll know what you're there for.

The Scout has 3 primary roles in the team:

    1. Intel Gathering

    2. Running Interference

    3. Mobile Spawn Point

The Scout is the ideal class to infiltrate areas and provide information on enemy locations and get data hacks. Smoke, Thermal optics, Optical Camo, OTR scanner and stun mines give the Scout a huge intel gathering advantage....more so than the Engineers...especially when the Scout can also be a death farmer thanks to his weapons.
When running with a team of friends, you should immediately switch to the Intel gathering role.
Don't rush in...hang back...flank around and set up in a good position. Use OTR scanning and hacking to provide intel. Your camo should keep you safe and if the opportunity arises take out anyone with a silenced weapon.
Take up positions along enemy approach routes and OTR them.
Stalk the lone wolved and hack them
Call out positions and use smoke+thermals to detect enemy movement

Running Interference is another important role for the Scout. This puts emphasis on getting kills and denying the enemy approach routes to the objective whenever you can. Basically this is Guerilla Mode.
Your focus should be on halting enemy movement. This is where your CQB skills come in handy. The Scout is a fast and nimble mofo and the SMGs are great for CQB and infiltration operations. Use your camo to hide out and ambush approaching enemy troops and then change your position.
Use Claymores and deny the enemy freedom of movement. Watch the usual flanking routes and take out the clever lone wolves.
Setting up near the enemy spawn is a risk but effective tactic. Hamper any and all enemy movement.
Use smoke to block their LOS.
    Flash the ****ers
Set up in nice campy spot and drop people as they approach (remember to change position after a couple of kills)

Running Interference works best when playing with Randoms.

A Scout is a fantastic forward spawn point. Set up near an important approach and keep re-enforcing your team.

As for the weapons...it entirely depends on your playstyle and the map.
Go for the VSS or the SRR on Overpass. Don't plant yourself at the bridges....get down to street level and OTR/Shoot folks from there.
Go for the bolt actions on Cargo
SMGs are great for the rest

Also, equip one Sniper with an OTR and the other with a laser.....sometimes, while Sniping, it helps not to have your target know that he is in your sights. So while on a sniping run..forgoe the OTR and go for that element of surprise.

    A great Scout can be a game-changer

The enemy can see your Aiming Laser.

    False.

This is a myth started by inexperienced players who play as an Engineer and think that everyone who aims at them is using the Laser. They don't know that the Engineer's passive skill shows red lines to anyone aiming at him.

Aiming lasers can't be seen by enemies.
