Question Assassin's Creed 1: Controller Triggers not working

Hello, I just installed Assassin's Creed and plugged in my (fake) xbox360 controller (logitech chillstream).
When I started the game the controls were off and I had to go and fix them, so I fixed everything except High Profile and Lock - I cannot use them on the triggers !
When it asks me: what button do I want for High Profile I press the right trigger but the game doesn't do anything, it's like it's not even there (the button). So I can't run on the trigger like in AC2 or ACB ..
So does anyone know this fix for the controls on the gamepad ? Every button (except the triggers) works !

My controller: http://www.vgcore.com/images/chill1.jpg (or just google logitex chillstream)
I have windows 7 64x and the controller is updated.

My PC (Don't know if that has to do with anything ):
    Processor: AMD Anthon(tm) II X4 640 Processor 3.00 Ghz
    RAM: 4 GB
Graphic card: AMD Radeon HD 6700 Series

I've just run into this problem, myself, and it seems that it's been an unresolved issue for a while. My controller (an official xbox 360 wired controller) also works great, and x360ce shows the triggers working perfectly, and yet in AC2, I am unable to set the triggers to their appropriate controls.

My LARGER problem is that the game has reset my save point on two different occasions. This last time, it really took me back quite far. Lost 4 or 5 hours of gameplay. From what I've read, it has to do with the Cloud sync option, which must be disabled within the Uplay options menu. Assassin's Creed is extremely fun, and for that reason I am continuing to play it, despite these terrible issues.

Also, I find it annoying that the game pushes only ONE of my six cores to the max. I don't notice any issues with gameplay, but it'd be nice to know that the game was using my computer's full resources... or at least spreading them out evenly.
